I found out today that I’m pregnant. The stick had two lines but one was fainter than the other. Then I tested with a digital (same brand), and it said “yes+”. What would cause the faint line? My Ovia app says I’m 5w4d, why wouldn’t the line be really dark by now?

No. The Hormones show up stronger the further along you are. So since you arent very far, its detecting that youre pregnant but there isnt enough hormones yet to make the second line darker.

Not necessarily. Just depends on how strong the hormones are. They get stronger as you get further along.

The lines are usually different. Depends on how concentrated the hormones are in your pee.
Go get a blood test.

Congratulations!! I had that with my first but I took like 7 tests lol and only the first test I took that day was a faint line. It could just be that particular test
The faint like is based off hormones. It’s normal
I have 5 kids. I’ve had plenty faint lines. I’ve even had negative lab test results.

Because I was a super nervous nelly I tested daily!!! You can see the line drakes as time went on.

It doesn’t have to be dark to mean positive. A faint second line is still a second line.

Hormone level is low in the early stages of pregnancy so the further on the stronger the result
I tested with my first and it was super faint my husband couldn’t see the line and I thought I could so I sent my husband to the store for a digital because we tried for 5 years and I needed to know for sure. I tested negative with my second pregnancy for days before my missed period and the second day of my missed period I tested and the lines showed up. And my 3rd I just got digitals. But there’s the test from all three. The first is super faint.
Just happens like that sometimes. Any line in the allotted time it tells in the instructions is a positive 
It takes up to 72 hours for hormones to double so if you are that early your levels may be low

You might have been over hydrated, positive is positive.
Line darkness is not an indication of anything. Dont even let it stress you out that it was faint. That means nothing.
I took one at 7 months and the second line still barely showed up
Some people don’t even get a positive until much later due to hormone levels
It would mean that you’re pregnant.
No… by your period you are over 5 weeks, but in fact you’ve only been pregnant for about 1-2 weeks(depending on the day you ovulated). Positive is positive. Just means your levels are low because you are very early. Wait a week and take another. It will give you a darker line.

Tested at 5 weeks and definitely had a faint second line to the point where we were squinting & second guessing ourselves! The next day we bought a digital and sure enough it said “Pregnant”, 2 years later and I have a little tornado running around lol!! You’re really early on in pregnancy so a faint line would not worry me personally… maybe keep resting as the days go on I’m sure that line will get darker!!
The same thing happened to me hon, but I didn’t take a second test. I went to the hospital cause I was constantly throwing up. I thought I had caught a bug but my OB/gyn, who saved my mom’s life, much love to the woman, took a urine sample from me and it shown I was pregnant at 2 months. Now I’m due in 3-4 weeks. But anyways Congrats to you hon!
Depends on your hormone levels. I was already 6 weeks or so when I took my first test and you could barely even see a 2nd line
I took 2 tests at 3 weeks, both of mine were definitely there. I’m not sure if you would consider them ‘dark’ but you can surely tell they’re positive. Lol, I know this didnt help much but I have no clue why it would be faint.
Hormone level is low him with my son I didn’t get a good positive till around 6 weeks n this pregnancy I got a definite positive 2 days before my missed period
Sometimes if these test is old. Or if it’s the second line that was faint it’s because your hormones were really strong.
