What causes random bruising?

I have a serious question so please no negativity I am making an appointment tomorrow.

For the past few weeks I’ve been getting big bruises all over my body at first wasn’t a big deal figured I banged my leg or something but it’s getting worse they are big and black and blue and and there’s more and more every day. Today I noticed a huge one on the back of my leg it’s getting ridiculous. I’m 21 so not sure what is going on. Has anyone gone through this? Should I be worried.

Get your platelets checked.

Probably and iron deficiency

It’s definitely something you should have checked. It could be nothing, it could be as simple as you are low on iron or it could be something serious. You don’t want to take any chances

Vitamin deficiency. You can flick me with a finger and I’ll bruise

You are doing the right thing by going to your doctor ASAP.

Probably anemic from an iron deficiency

Went thru something similar when I was younger!! Low iron!! But get a medical opinion!!

Yeah…unfortunately it can be anemia but sometimes there is a more serious reason…go as soon as possible. I wont scare you and give worse case…but sometimes it’s something more dangerous…

Probably iron deficiency. Bring low iron up to your doctor at that appointment😊

I have extremely low iron and bruise so easily. Even the slightest bump I bruise insanely!!

When I was younger & took birth control pills I had that problem

Sounds as tho you are anemic.

I’ve always bruised easily. My doctor tested me for everything but the only thing that came back abnormal was I have large platelets.

Bruising without injury can be a sign of leukemia. Please go to the doc ASAP.

Low Iron? Try taking otc supplements & eating iron rich foods (basically a soul food diet.) Also, too much calcium will stop iron absorption.

Its sounds like possible vitamin K deficiency

That happened to me…huge bruises. Like my whole thigh…went to the dr and my iron was low…

It happened to me and turned out I was vitD deficient and severely anemic.

Please see a doctor. Do you take aspirin? Maybe your blood us thin.

I bruise easy but my daugther said it part of having diabeties

I took meds once that caused this… are you taking any meds?

See a doctor asap and please update us…praying…

You need to see a doctor ASAP

I would get it checked but it is probably something minor.

Just try to stay calm everything will be ok try not to stress so much until you get to the doctors

This is a question for a doctor.

You’re likely anemic. Low iron in your blood. Start prenatal vitamins and have your GYN do a blood panel asap. There are some really scary things that can cause bruising, but those things are RARE and more likely than not it’s just low blood iron. There’s a reason that there’s #teammysteriouslegbruise. No need to freak out, but do address the issue.

Sounds like low iron or low blood platlettes. Glad you are going to the doctor.

It could be a number of things I was having the same issue and I was anemic. The dr will do some blood work and you will find out so don’t stress out

Could be your iron levels. Or ITP. Definitely get it checked out by a dr

Anemia maybe? But for sure go in and have hemoglobin and ferritin probably checked.

Happens, but get it checked!

You need to see a doctor and have blood work done, iron deficiency can cause this, among other things.

My neighbors daughter had that happen and it turned out to be leukemia.

Probably not anything too serious. I had an issue like that with my son. He would bruise so easily. His Dr said that the extremities weren’t much of a worry. He said that when you bruise in unusual places, chest/torso, ect, that’s when it’s worrisome. Those places aren’t ones you would typically bruise easily. Definitely follow up with your Dr to find out what’s going on.

Could be very minor, also has the POTENTIAL to be serious. Nobody can give you answers except the physician examining you. I’m sorry.

Are you on or were you recently on an antibiotic?

Could be an iron deficiency- I used to wake with random bruises all over, let us know how you go x

Anemia! I’m 34 & I’ve had my adult life, I’ll bang my leg on the steering wheel or a light bump & then the next day I’ll have major bruising a lot of time idk where they came from. See you doc he/she will prob put you on iron supplements if it’s anemia. Good luck

I used to bruise really easily and was anemic ended up having a transfusion and dont bruise easily any more. See your dr…good luck

Anemia is what it sounds like

I did this and still do at times. Mine was low iron. I now take iron pills

Iagree with the others it sounds like it could be anemia but I’m glad you’re making a doctor’s appointment because of the very worst case scenario which is rare, leukemia can cause the same effects, do not let this scare you like I said that’s the worst case scenario

Talk to your doctor. It could be an iron deficiency, but your doc will have to run some blood tests.

Clotting or bleeding disorder?

Get to the doctor for a full physical and tell them about this there are many reasons that you might bruise and some of them are bad so don’t stay home trying to figure this one out yourself. <3
