What’s a good temperature to set the thermostat in my apartment during the winter? It’s a 2 bedroom apartment. I’m home most days with my youngest who is almost 15 months. My 6 year old goes to school and my kids dad works a lot. I want it set where we’re warm but also don’t want to drive up the electric bill. I also plan on buying a heater as well.
We live in WV and keep ours on 68 year round
I like mine at 73. I am cold natured. At night I like it cool 67.
We live in Florida. We keep it 74 all year round except for the 2 weeks of winter. Then we turn the heat on lol
Michigan. Open windows and fans in summer. 68 during the day, 63 overnight during the winter. Unless it’s REALLY cold, then we go above 70.
What state or country do you live in? What’s the climate outside?
Well I like to be warm so 72
67-68 during the day and 63 at night!
68 to 70 in south Mississippi
I leave it set to 66-68 year round
I set mine at 65* at night and 67-68 durning the day
FL we do heat at ,70/72 if we’re home. Summer we do ac 74/76. 76 is more for chillin at home n 74 is for sleepin
I stay home as well and we have ours set at 68. All day and night. We live in NM and it does get in the low 20s at night sometimes even single digits.
I’m a hot body… I wouldn’t do lower then like 68 during the day… mine I kept at 65 all the time but my kiddo is older
I live in Florida and I keep mine down too around 65
I think 72 is average. I like my head cold at night.68.
60, I keep it at 65 all summer and don’t use the fireplace until it gets to 60. Usually I don’t even need the heater but will turn it on if the fireplace doesn’t knock out the chill
Window units for summer and thermostat stays at 72-76 in winter. Sometimes higher
65 but I’m in between 2 apartments… May up it a degree or 2 if needed just so toddler doesn’t get cold… I’m in Ohio…
68 in the Winter. 72 in Summer
Should staY at 68/72, , turning it up and down is worse on the bill and a heater will be too…
Mine is at 72 all winter… And my gas bill isn’t crazy like people will assume. If you keep it the same temperature all the time the bill won’t run up much since it should only ever need to heat a couple degrees
Mine is always set between 68°-70° depending on my movement level.
Whatever is comfortable for you? Lmao what kind of question is this
A space heater? That will shoot your electric bill up, I don’t recommend. We usually keep ours at about 68, it keeps it comfortable for us.
When it’s really cold we set it at 64° during the day since we’re more active and moving around but we set it at 68° for sleeping. However, I think for babies and toddlers they recommend their
rooms to be 68° - 72° for sleeping so I’d say you probably want to keep the house at a minimum of 68°.
This s has so many variables that it has a almost impossible to answer. What state, do you(and babe) tend to run warm or easily cold, do you like to be bundled or run in minimal clothing and does your apartment retain heat well or does it tend to cool off quickly?
Personally I keep between 65-68 in the winter as I don’t like to be overly hot (I tend to run warm anyway) and I hate being completely bundled up. They say that 72° is the point at which you neither feel hot or cold but I find it almost to warm in the winter.
68 seems to work best. Space heater for bathroom
63-65 max. I’m not a lizard that needs a heat lamp!
I normally do 64 but occasionally 66 if it feels extra chilly
We stay at 68. I wouldn’t bother with the heater. It won’t help much and will run up your bill.
70…
only time i didnt use heat was in Arizona for almost 2 years
I live in alaska so it’s always 70-72 degrees (I have an infant) but I don’t pay for heat and our electric bill is never over $105.00 and that’s includes plugging in our vehicles
Get you a humidifier it will make the temperature you choose feel warmer.
Don’t ask me, bc it’s 77°
68° all year long or I’ll die
Holy crap, i see everyone saying 68! Where are you all at?? Here in Florida, we keep it at 78 during the day if we are home, 80 if we aren’t. 74 at night. Winter if it hits 60’s in the house heat gets turned on🤣 my office is a meat locker, i have a heater by my desk all year long!
I live in wv the winters get really cold and summer is really warm. Summer 68 winter when it’s in the lowers and negatives 72 to keep the little ones warm
I do 68 during the day and 63 at night,I sleep better if it’s cooler at night, night, my bedrooms are upstairs so it’s always warmer.
Ohio here. 73-74 degrees year round. We own reptiles so we can’t let it get too cold.
Um so u don’t want to run up ur electric bill but will but a heater which will run up ur electric bill tell me how this makes sense please
In summer I’ll put it at 80; now that it’s getting to the 30s at night I keep it at 73 because 72 feels freezing🤣
Between 68 and 70 depending on how cold it gets - although we’re on the second floor so it’s a bit warmer
We keep our 2 bedrm apt at 68. We have concrete floors under crappy thin laminate flooring. It keeps peeling up. We might keep it cooler but we have to worry about pipes freezing.
70-72 for my old war time 3 bedroom house
Heaters are usually expensive to use as a heating source
