Not baby related but momma related. I’m 45 years old. Never had a not normal Pap smear. Got a call from the ob. Wants me to come back in to do another form of testing?? Anyone else go through this? What were the results? I’m freaking out?

I’ve had two abnormal… they took a biopsy, which is just like a pap but with a tiny pinch. The biopsies came back normal so I didn’t have to do anything. But I’ve heard that if you DO have precancerous cells, it isnt a big deal and they freeze/burn them off and it’s pretty painless and not anything major. I have a friend who has this done every couple years.

I’m currently pregnant, had abnormal pap and because of pregnancy they can’t do a biopsy but they have told me that I have precancerous cells and redone the pap… no word yet but they said it usually goes away on its own
I had pre cancerous cells. It was at the last stage b4 cancer so got it just in time. I had laser ablation surgery on my cervix. You dont feel a thing. I then had to have pap smears every 3 months for a year then every 6 months then every year. I had the ablation done in 2009 and ive been fine since
You might need a colposcopy to take a biopsy or a LEEP procedure if you have high grade precancerous cells. It’s definitely nerve wracking but a necessary procedure to avoid a much worse outcome of cancer later down the road.
I’ve had one or two weird Pap smears before … in my younger pre-menopausal days .
Our bodies change so much with hormones and sometimes if one little thing on the pap looks different , they want to retest to make sure it wasn’t a testing error or something they need to look at further . There are different types of pap test these days … that are more accurate .
