Recently All of a sudden , my pressure went up to 140/90 and unstable pulse .Then after diagnosis , doctor said I have high Uric acid level , which is 6.3 . He didn’t prescribed me any medicine which will lower my Uric acid level . He just suggested food that needs to be avoided… I am just tensed about this. High uric acid levels are typically caused by gout but here is a link that should help you out better.

this could be genetic, or it could be diet and lifestyle. It could be a disease process, (diabetes-kidney disease). If you’re having back pain with elevated levels I suggest a second opinion. And if you drink any alcohol, stop.

go to mayo clinic an look gout up thats a sign that I read

I am 43 and just recently diagnosed with high Uric acid as well. Uric acid can cause gout… swollen painful joints. That could explain your back pain.
Uric acid can (but not always) be a diet issue. You can look up diet restrictions or foods to avoid. Medication is not always required unless you do have gout. My doctor was kind of vague and nonchalant about it :woman_shrugging: I read that high uric acid can cause a certain kind of kidney stone. But then had a doctor tell me no it doesn’t.

I would change doctors so they can find out exactly what’s causing it, if your Dr refuses to do any more tests.

Why not ask your doctor?

Gout. The only thing that worked for my husband was Olive Leaf Extract.

Not everything needs medicine to treat (take that as a blessing). Alot of things can be helped with the right diet and exercise…

If you can afford it see a dietitian, she will help, if not get on line or have someone look it up for you, Mayo’s hospital site has a lot just don’t freak out on all the neg and wrong info on sites that are not connected to a regulated knowledgeable site,if not that call you Dr office and ask for a consult with a dietitian, don’t ignore it, don’t panic.

Look up dr Berg on YouTube he has a lot of good info about that and foods to eat to fix the problem

Oh yes gout. Watch the tomatoes and if you drink alcohol- beware beer and wine.

I had uric acid kidney stones. They got so big I had 3 surgeries to remove. Ending with going thru my back. Avoid processed foods, anything that has high sodium content.

Drinking lots of water can help flush out your system. Also try yoga or Tai Chi to help bring more balance to your system. Go to a class, buy a DVD you can play or borrow one from the library, download or stream or whatever. My fave on You Tube because it’s easy and only takes 20-30 minutes, plus it’s a form of calming meditation: Tai Chi Chih - Joy Through Movement - YouTube

Cherry juice can help. My husband has gout and it help during a flare up.

My uric acid should be below 5two weeks ago it shit up to over 45, I am having a terrible round of gout the pain has nearly killed me. Mt right had I an not use at all. It feels like it diesnte even belong to me. We are still trying to get this stabilized.

6.0 is the high normal level in women (if your a female) or 7.0 in men. Joint disease like gout or inflammatory diseases can occur. Drink at least 64 oz of water daily. Gout medication can lower it like Allopurinol. Stay away from red meat, seafood, alcohol…there’s list on-line. Good luck

Start researching ways and foods to help. Most research and specialist hospitals have information online.

Avoid red meats and drink cherry juice.

Its an early indicator for arthritis.

Tart cherry juice is what lowered my father’s Uric acid, oh an probiotics like Activia yogurt.

The frozen cherries, I think. My doctor had me eat something frozen and it was fruit. It brought mine down as well! I was shocked. Just food, no medicine.

Eating alot of pork will raise uric acid levels

They didn’t send you meds because 6.3 is borderline not high. I believe 7 is considered high. My father in law had gout a few times and he stopped eating red meat and liver and no alcohol. Once it went over 7 they put him on medication. This can be serious as it can affect the kidneys and joints. In a few months you need lab work again

I have high uric acid and chronic gout caused from it. It can be miserable that’s for sure. Diet is a big factor but does not necessarily cure it. I have found pork is one of my biggest triggers. If I eat pork I suffer for days on end. And take it easy on red meats. Everyone’s body is different so you can have different ‘truggers’ so to speak and certain things will affect some people more than others but pork and red meat are not great for it and if eating it you should eat it in moderation

So. uric acid won’t cause major damage, maybe grout here & there. To lower uric acid you can reduce stress, avoid mushrooms, peas, cauliflower, porks, fish, turkey, veal. Reduce sugar intake by a lot, work out, drink more water. If you drink alcohol, get rid of it. add more fiber to your diet, get to sleep on time, avoid caffiene ^____^

Avoid the food your doctor told you to.
A diet changed can so much one doesn’t always need a medication.

For flare ups , naproxen is the first line treatment . For prevention, allopurinol but you’ll need a script from your doctor . High uric acid can lead to gout

It can cause gout if you don’t follow the diet no medication needed yet

You need to call the doctor back and get another appointment. You need to tell them that you need a more in depth conversation about what your results mean and what steps are necessary for you. It’s unacceptable for your doctor not to explain this.

Gout… most people can not control by diet alone!
There are so many foods to avoid that it is ridiculous!
Purines…is what ya need to avoid. Found in red meats/turkey etc Even oatmeal!
Avoid all alcohol also.
You really need a second opinion with another doctor.

Most people start out with developing gout in their big toe, and it is so painful, you can’t even stand to have a blanket on it… nothing. You need meds to lower your uric acid level… No beer, and watch your intake of red meat, so they doctors say.

High uric acid puts you at risk for gout. Avoid any foods high in uric acid ( a lot of meats are) and Google for foods high and low in uric acid, there are really good lists out there.
