So my daughter is having her tonsils and adenoids removed in almost a week… things to expect? I’m kind of worried about the pain she’ll be in. Don’t know how bad it’ll be because I was a lot younger than her when I had mine took out so just looking for some advice I guess.
My son had his done this year and he was in quite a bit of pain. We found keeping his throat moist was the most beneficial along with routine pain meds for a bit.
It’s not too bad for most kids. My daughter was 8 and had tonsils, adenoids out and nasal passage opened up. The first 24hrs she was pretty miserable but it was manageable and by the second day she was eating pizza lol they’ll keep your child in to help manage pain initially and send her home once she’s responding well.
