What to do for c section scar pain?

Fan Question

C section mamas: I’m 8 months pp. Do jeans bother your scar? And for how long? I normally am fine for a few hours but then start to get a pinching sensation. I know I can get higher jeans but those aren’t normally trendy. And my job just passed a “ no leggings” rule even with a tunic.

High waisted jeans are making a comeback! If you can wear them and they are comfortable, do it! I have a few pairs to hide my mom bod and I love them lol. Nothing wrong with them, especially if they’re comfortable for you !

I don’t remember exactly how long my scar bothered me but it definitely did. My son is a little over 2 now and it doesn’t bother me anymore, and hasn’t for a while now, just can’t pinpoint when it got better. It’s a lot less noticeable now too and not super thick like it started out.

5 years pp and i still cant wear jeans, they always rub my scar. But i did have a incision rupture at 3 weeks pp so im sure that added to the issue.

Mine never bothered me fortunately. But where I live highwaisted jeans are like all you can buy! Very in!!

Usually i wear jeggings or highwaisted jeans and shorts. Mine rubs constantly too.

9 years later & still can’t wear low cut pants, high waisted for life after 3 c-sections!

One thing that helped me was putting a pad/panty liner across the front of my jeans where they rubbed my scar.

I’m 9 months pp and still wear my maternity jeans. No issues

Well… My son is 5 and I’m still rocking maternity jeans… so comfortable, no muffin top, all cuteness. And you can’t even tell!!

Who cares about being trendy? Do what makes you comfortable. You could really hurt that scar if jeans keep rubbing on it.

It made my incision itchy, but that’s about it. After a year I don’t even notice it, but I still get random shooting pains where my scar is.
It’s been almost 2 years lol

I didn’t start wearing regular jeans until about a year and a half after my c section. Maternity jeans are so comfy and no one even knows as long as ur shirt is past the band. I’d wear maternity jeans every day if I could lol

I was going to say try jeggings or high waisted jeans, I see girls in them all the time and they always look super cute and trendy

You’re not even allowed to wear jeggings? Every since I started wearing leggings and or jeggings after my c section I never went back to jeans. These are way to comfortable.

After 3 c sections mine is not so much the scar but the nerves. I had my last 2 close so it really bothers me, my youngest is 19 mos. my oldest is 16 and they bothered me for a few years after her.

Try wearing maternity pants that have the elastic front.

I want to say 6 months for me

Maternity jeans, belly band or a panty liner helps. I had 3 csections; one with stitches one with staples and one with glue. Id say it was less irritated after about two months. After that is was occasionally numb or would itch

I had my c-section 4 months ago the only time it bothers me is if my jeans are a bit snug and directly on the scar . other than that I’m still pretty numb from pubic bone to belly button

I don’t think they can ban leggings, especially if they are one of the only things you can wear that doesn’t bother your scar. I didn’t have a c section, but leggings are the only thing I can wear, everything else makes me really uncomfortable. My lo its almost 2

I like pants like this now

You’re more worried about being trendy than comfortable :joy::joy:

I’m 6mths pp and when my son accidentally kicks that area during a diaper change, it still is tender. W jeans, I do find it a little uncomfy when its directly on the scar, but if I get a pair that is slightly above it, usually doesnt bother me…but I’m one for leggings n sucks u cant wear those w ur job now

Yes jeans still bother me some times try jeggings

I have some lovely high waist jeans i prefer them to other jeans after having my 1st child i found low jeans uncomfy on the waist i had 2x c sections

6 months here. Recently started sitting at work (I am usually always on my feet) and yes, my jeans still bother me

Yes everything bothered me for about a year

My daughter is 2 next week. I cant wear anything that sits on or just above my scar. Not even leggings. All of my bottoms, underwear included has to be high waisted. Forget being “trendy” and just be comfortable.

Wear what’s comfortable, who cares about what’s trendy, you’re going to figure that out pretty quick I think

I wore dresses a lot after my two c-sections…

I still wear my maternity jeans a year later  they’re too comfy to get rid of. And my scar hurts so bad.
It’s just the nerves still healing.

How high is everyones scar? Mine is below the panty line and never is bothered. At least not yet I’m 5 months pp.

I also suggest going a size up, dont kill yourself being uncomfortable in jeans, not worth it.

I had my son 14 years ago and sometimes jeans still bother me.

I still get the pinching sensation and sometimes a random sting here and there but it’s not too overwhelming. I guess it really just depends how long it’s been since you had it done

I my jeans don’t bother it but some undies do. I had to get higher undies

I’m 4.5 years from my first csection. 2.5 years from the second. And I still hate jeans.

High waisted jeggings

My c-section babies are about to be 8 & 11 and my scars never stopped bothering me. The pain and sensitivity dulls, but it never completely went away. I have no feeling on the surface but it will feel like it’s itchy. I was told you can get a shot that will break down the excess scar tissue but I’ve never looked into it. In other words, it doesn’t completely go away, you just get used to it.

I wore maternity clothes or even dress slacks with the stretchy waist… even today and I’m 19 months pp from my 4th csection and I still get feeling

High waste jeans are trendy

Just put a pad inside your jeans at the zipper for padding. Believe me it works.

Go to btbbutterfly Boutique. They have jeans called Judy Blues
They are amazingly comfortable, soft & stretchy, but they are jeans. Check them out.

I wore a dress, the same dress, everyday for probably the first 2 weeks after both my c sections lol. Dresses are a lot more comfortable. I still have issues every now and again and I’m 9 months PP. Just wear what is comfortable. I use to want to wear what was trendy and instyle but now I wear what I can and what’s comfortable. Chasing around 2 kids under 2, I just put on what is easiest for now lol.

I am 2 1/2 yrs after and I’ve had 3 c-section. I can only wear jeans for short periods of time or it feels like I am having knives stuck in my scar.

High waisted denim colored leggings

I used a pad. I put the sticky side on my pants and it helpped so much!!

High waisted jeans can be cute you just gotta find the right ones i found that the zipper ones never fit right and look cute but walmart had some (cheap even) that have several buttons and no zipper that fit like a freaking dream and dont rub on my scars they are no boundaries brand

I did for a good year after my first. After I wore Jean’s more and more it got better

I don’t wear jeans anymore. Almost 7 years later lol

My baby is almost two. I still have issues with my scar. I believe it is because I get crazy ingrown hairs in it though.

I didnt care what was “trendy” I wore what I liked and what was comfy to me and didnt give a fuck what others thought :joy:

My sister wears nothing but them jegging pants or whatever there called

High waist jeans really everything I wear has to be at least at my belly button

Also if I can I try to wear a skirt or a dress like a maxi skirt or a tshirt dress

It’s been 2 years for me and I still can’t wear jeans for a long time

Use a tight underwear ones that highrise above your belly

My scars are along my bikini line (that this body does not wear) so pants don’t bother mine

Honestly low rise jeans still bother my scar on occasion especially while on my period and my kiddo is 7.

I wear a lot of skorts that way while bending I don’t have to worry…I did wear jeans but I had a couple that weren’t so tight but gave up… leggings and skirts mostly… occasionally a dress
