What to pack in a hospital bag?

First time momma due in October.

What should I pack in my hospital bag for me and baby? Thank you!

Outfits for baby. Comfy clothes for you. They’ll supply formula (if your bottle feeding) diapers wipes… I brought shampoo body wash (they supply that too but I liked my own) comfy shoes, I brought munchy foods… a blanket of my own.

I didn’t pack really anything but a few set of clothes for him . They provided the rest for me. Make sure you have comfortable clothes to sleep in and for the baby also! They will provide diapers and other stuff!

An outfit or 2 for the baby and something loose and comfy to go home in and chargers and slip on shoes. I over packed when I had my little one in June! Hospitals are amazing about taking care of you and getting what you need.

I brought yoga pants and a tee shirt for when I was discharged, slippers or flip flops, a lightweight robe was a lifesaver for visitors over the hospital gown! A few outfit options for baby, charger, snacks, crosswords and stuff (I was induced the 1st two times)

I would absolutely recommend your own pillow and a towel from home. The towels at my hospital were the size of hand towels.

Pregnancy buddies! Im due in October as well, lol.
Lets see, phone charger, tooth brush, hair brush. I got traveling size shampoo and body wash. Makeup if you want to throw some on for pics.
Cozy clothes if you dont want to stay in a gown that shows your ass, lol. Omg panties!!! The hospital ones gave me a rash, they bothered me so bad. You can bring giant pads, but they will privide them for you.
They also provide non slip socks.
As far as baby, I brought diapers and wipes (never used them bc the hospital provided them), brought a go home outfit, but with my second child I just left him in the nighties they provide for baby.
They provide a lot of things baby needs there.

And be sure to take whatever goodies you have left in the room, diapers, wipes, etc. You’re already paying for them, take them.

Big comfy clothes, I prefer an oversized nightgown. I preferred the huge pads the hospital gave you, tried the ones from the store and bled all over the bed :woman_shrugging:t5::woman_shrugging:t5:. Charger. Camera. Cash, I had my first right before midnight and couldn’t have an actual meal until morning because everything was closed :sob::sob: vending machines will help. For baby, swaddle. Outfits. Pacifier if you want, some hospitals don’t supply them. Mittens. Hat.

Like 3-4 baby outfits and lots of granny panies and p.js and a heating pad did wonders for me so It may for u

I bought a 10ft phone charger specifically for the hospital! You never know how accessible the outlets are going to be.

Many outfits in different sizes just in case. Chargers, comfy clothes, pillow would deff make it better!
Shower stuff (many hospitals provide)
Bigger shoes!! My feet did not swell at all during pregnancy they swelled after my baby was born.
Chapstick (some hospitals provide but it is cheap stuff)

Clothes that are comfortable, clothes (going home outfit) for the little one, some slipper/socks. We took brush, deodorant, toothbrush, all the little things that no one ever thinks to pack in a hospital bag. Hair ties if needed. Make sure there is extra room (extra bag) for the things that will be taken from the hospital (diapers, wipes, formula, etc). And if you plan to get hospital pictures done make sure you have the money on hand. As well as some snacks and such, because those three meals are great but not enough. Lol.

An extension cord for your phone charger. You’re gonna be there a while and the outlets are aaaaalways too far away lol.

Also first time momma due in October…following!

Diapers bottle change of clothes wipes baby wash cloth maybe pacifier pads for you the hospitals is huge best I remember you some panties no need for bra toiletries toothbrush tooth paste pjs or clean gown house shoes baby outfit boot is or socks for baby bibs carseat

WOW!! I didn’t bring anything. My Mom never took anything so had no idea. I came home with the same thing I went in with, a sundress, stretch bra, don’t remember about panties, Dr Scholl’s sandals. But I was about a month early and gave birth within 45 minutes. Interesting what Mama’s pack.

Phone charger and take home clothes literally all you need
