We ended up getting a spray to remove leg hair because I also feel it is too young to shave
Most girls that I know as well as my daughter and her friends all began shaving around 10/11. If she has to do PE and change out with her peers in the locker room and run with hairy legs when all her friends are smooth shaved, then itās just cruel for you to make her go through that.

My granddaughter started at 11 only cause she did have hairy legs
When my daughter asks me is when Iām going to show her how and ālet herāā¦ā¦ bodily autonomy and all that

Let her Shave her legs , Teach her how to do it , before she tries it herself and cuts her legs up .
11 is def old enough. Teach her the first time. Have her sit on the edge of the tub. Get her a basic razor for the first few goes. Teach her how to clean any cuts and then band aids. This is def a very normal age for shaving legs and armpits.
Once she is responsible so she doesnāt cut herself.
My daughter shaves and she is almost 12
I started learning how to shave my legs at that age.
Teach her if she wants to shave itās her body and should be her choice.
I started shaving at 11. I didnāt ask I just used my sisters razor and she got so mad at me

My daughter was 10, I didnāt think it would be that early but she really begged bc her hair was dark so I agreed. If sheās asking I think itās time.

Whenever she starts feeling self-conscious about it is a good sign sheās ready. Mine started just after she turned 12.
When the hair is noticeable for heavens sake. Perhaps this 11-year old has friends who shave and she noticed her leg hair is longer too.
Mine started at 11. She has dark hair like me and her dad is super hairy so her leg hair was very noticeable
My daughter came to me and asked at 10 almost 11. I told her yes, itās her body and if something as simple as shaving will help her be comfortable in her own skin then Iām for it.

I was 11, I only started cause kids at school would tease me during PE. My mom didnāt let me at first but once I got written up for trying to wear leggings under my shorts she said okay and taught me

I was 11 when I started because I was uncomfortable with the way the hair looked on my legsā¦. But I started asking around 10 1/2 and my mom finally said yes when I was 11.
All 6 of my girls starts around 11/12. They asked and because I didnāt want them doing it without being shown when Iām not looking, I showed them.
If sheās asking them sheās already uncomfortable w the hair she has on her. Not allowing her to shave will only make things worse for her and she will most likely go behind your back to do it if sheās that uncomfortable

Iām sorry but I donāt think thereās an āappropriate ageā for shaving our legs. I mean nothing is wrong with that. If she isnāt comfortable with having body hair, let her shave it.

If they are uncomfortable with the hair on their legs let them shave itās 2022 people not 1946 plus half their friends are shaving them I see nothing wrong with it!!

I started the summer after fifth gradeā¦.I was 10 y/o. I donāt think 11 is too young. If sheās asking you and itās bothering her then you should teach her how to do it. You donāt want her to be self conscious or get made fun of by other kids, especially now that the warm weather is coming. Just remind her once she starts she has to keep doing it because the hair will grown back in thicker, etc

If sheās asking about it she is obviously ready for it. If she is uncomfortable with her leg hair and this will make her feel better about who she is then it doesnāt matter how old or young she is

My daughter asked to shave her legs and I got her her own razor and taught her how to do it. I rather her ask and I know about it than use my razor and she doesnāt do it correctly. I was about 10-11 when I started. I dont really see a problem

Buy her an electric razor for now.

I think it should be whenever they are ready. Itās our job just to make sure they safely know how, and to provide them with the proper equipment for them. If they are young; a guarded double blade (safety razor) and shave lotion would be a good start. Itās a good time to bond too. It doesnāt have to be a restrictive or negative thing. Itās a right of passage.

I would say now is a good time I know 10 year Olds who have legs full of hair. they start getting self conscious about that at this age

When it starts to bother mine, I taught her how.
i started shaving my legs in 5th grade when i was 11. I think that is the appropriate age. Just with just a few times with an electric razor and then teach her how to do it with shaving cream and once she knows what to do, she can shave whenver she wants. My guess is her friends are sarting to shave and she wantās to also.

Itās her body if itās making her feel uncomfortable or insecure show her how to safely shave her legs.
Sheās a preteen and girls mature a lot faster than boys so no unfortunately mom 11 is not too young sheās almost in her menstrual state get ready for all that .

I taught my daughter at 10. Sshe was insecure abput how dark her leg hair was so i quickly obliged. Slef confidence is key.

I think they can start shaving when they feel they need to start shaving. My daughter is 11 and started shaving last year. She started with an electric razor but now uses a regular razor.

My daughter is 11 in august and Iām teaching her this summer. Her best friend is 11 and she does. And I was 11 when I started

My mother tried to make me wait until I was 15-16ā¦ well I kinda got sick of being made fun of, so I started sneaking it at 12yrs old 
then she just kinda ended up accepting it. Just let the girl shave, itās only hairā¦ itāll grow back

I say whenever they start getting hair under their armpits. My daughter started at 10 and so did I.
11-12 I personally think is a good age.

No specific age, just when their legs get hairy. Think how she may feel embarrassed to wear short or skirts.

My nine year old shaves her legs. If it looks like she needs to shave, itās time. I buy my daughters the little battery powered shavers in the cute prints so that they can get the hang of shaving without cutting themselves.

Every child is different. Puberty isnāt cookie cutter. Maybe sheās ready.
My 10 year old just started shaving her legs a couple of weeks ago. Sheās been asking for 6 months or more but I was hesitant at first about starting her so early. I was 15 before I started shaving my legs and I was always self conscious about the hair on my legs because it was so dark and coarse, and I didnāt want my daughter to be self conscious about hers growing up is hard enough without adding in something that she could actually do something about to make things easier for her in some way
My mom let us shave when we were uncomfortable with our body hair and sheās probably asking you that because she gets picked on for it most girls her age are already shaving and all her friends probably do and summer is coming then add in kids are cruel

Im pretty sure i was around that age when i started. I think its important for girls to do what they need to, to feel confident as opposed to swlf conscious about themselves. To be more comfortable w thier body n in their own skin. Talk to her n teach her.

11 is a good age, you donāt know what she is going through at school, itās best to teach her how and make sure she has the right stuff and knowledge. If you donāt let her, she will just do it behind your back and make a huge mess of her legs.

I just started letting my daughter who is 10 shave. She has very thick dark leg hair and was being teased about it:( I think she depends on how bothered they are about the hair.

Every child is different. I feel whenever they begin to be self conscious about it, I let them start. My youngest is 9 and has just started asking about it. If she really wants to start, Iāll help her.

I was 11 living in Cali - I didnāt care I had leg hair but they did. They were cruel and I would go home crying to my mom about how awful they were and can I please shave my legs so that the would stop. She couldnāt bare to see me coming hm almost daily in tears. Iād personally let my daughter shave her legs. Shes 11 and is self aware, these are trying years and itās going so fast for her. Show her how to shave mom

I didnt want my 10 yr old to shave yet just because i was scared she might cut herself,but i saw how low her self esteem was because of kids teasing her about it so i let her do what made her feel better about herself.

If itās noticeable and embarrassing to her it would be in her emotional well being to allow her to, or do it for her. Sheās a young woman and people are cruel.

I started shaving my legs when I was 9. I had very hairy legs and I was insecure about it. As long as you show her the correct way then I donāt see why not. Ny parents didnāt agree with me shaving around that age but I still did and cut myself all the time lol

I started at 11. In middle school, needed to start shaving bc then it is all about looks, fashion, and boys then. Hated middle school. Got made fun of if didnt shave or any other reason. Let her shave or may be bullied about it.
Whenever theyād like. Theyāll either do it with or without you, as was the case with me. Iād rather my daughter not cut her legs into millions of shreds (which is also the case with me).

Teach her. Get her a good electric razor. Show her the areas that are easily nicked with a Razor. Nobody showed me and I still have scars

I donāt believe 11 is too youngā¦ as long as you teach her how to do it properly it shouldnāt be an issueā¦ at that age girls start being self conscious about themselves and others can be quite mean as well if she thinks sheās ready and can do it right I donāt see the issue, I started around that time and my daughter did as well.

I started as an adult. kids were too busy making fun of my big nose to pay any attention to my legs

I started shaving and wearing a small amount of makeup like lipgloss at 13ā¦with my momās permission of courseā¦that was a long time ago thoughā¦lol
