When to transition to a toddler bed?

My 11 month old is almost as tall as her 5 year old sister. Shes a big baby. When shes in her crib she doesn’t have much room. Ive had just her mattress on the floor for almost 2 weeks now. She hasnt fallen off. She just sits there once she wakes up.
Im just curious on if its to early for her to be put into a toddler bed?

No, I put my son in a toddler bed when he was 1.

Do you have a picture? That’s crazy. I just had this problem with my 1yr old she is such a monkey we had to lower her crib to the lowest it could go and we put pillows around her crib, I’ve been thinking about moving her to toddler bed.

My little girl was in a toddler bed at 10 month x

Safety wise yes, toddler beds are safe until 15 months old. Your only option until then is a crib mattress on the floor in a 100% baby proofed room.

A toddler bed uses the same mattress as the crib. She would have the same amount of room, and a chance of actually rolling off onto the floor. I moved my daughter into a toddler bed at 18 months, and then into a twin size bed at 2

Our crib converted to a toddler bed but after the 4th time of her chubby leg getting caught I went straight to a low sitting twin with a mesh rail. She was 13 months at the time.

Yeah you can switch her already but it’s the same same as a crib

No
That would be great for her.

Both my kids transitioned to the daybed at a year. And at 1.5-2 when I knew they wouldn’t roll off they transitioned to a twin bed. My 3 year old falls out the odd time but she’s accident prone lmao

Absolutely not OfferUp Craigslist for those guardrails

I had my son in a toddler bed since he was a year old. They have toddler beds with the rails on all 4 sides with just enough space for them to get in and out. Second option is baby mattress on the floor in a safe spot. Have to make sure it’s 100% baby proofed wherever this mattress is. I know someone who bought a kiddy inflatable pool and turned it into a bed/play area lol you will find what works!

I had put my youngest in a single/twin bed at 12m. She moved way too much for such a small space. She ended up sleeping much better since.

Put my now 19 month old in a toddler bed at like 10 months

we did twin and skipped toddler bed with my oldest. my niece sleeps in a teepee tent on crib mattress she loves it

Post a picture I want to see

When my son turned one I put him into a twin bed I put a bed rail up on the side so he couldn’t fall out and I put a smaller one at the foot of the bed as well. So he was safe and secure but I could not get him to sleep in a crib, for the longest time he was in a pack and play but he got too big for it so I put him in a twin bed and he did awesome.

We never had toddler beds- the kids slept on twin mattresses on the floor starting around 1 - never had any problems- when there were the two - we’d find Them every morning in the same bed together like kittens :joy: we left the door open but a baby gate up so they couldn’t leave the room ( just in case)

My boy was in a twin bed at 10 months because he climbed out of his crib at 8 months

I would. She is already used to not sleeping in the crib so you don’t have to worry about her getting out a lot

Get a real bed for her and get side rails. Dont waste your money on a toddler bed only to have to get another one a year or two later (since shes so tall). Toddler bed use crib sized mattresses btw…so it makes no sense. Get her a double bed, she will have all the room to grow, and allows you to snuggle in bed if you want to. Just use the side rails since shes young.

Twin bed, use just the box spring and mattress at first. You can use pool noodles under the bottom sheet at the edge of the bed to prevent rolling off.

The toddler bed is going to be the same size as the crib so if she’s out grown it already then it’s time for a full size bed and you can get a safety reasons to slide under the mattress so she doesn’t role off

Our sons crib is a convertible crib, and when he was 16 months moved him into it due to being a climber. We had lowered crib as low as possible but could still climb out. After he broke wrist climbing out of pack n play decided to get out of crib. They have things you can buy on amazon that keeps them from rolling off bed, but still able to get out. :+1:t3:
