mmmmm…depends…if your mother has always been toxic …then she is just being tacky. If your weight is reaching a level that it is causing her concern about your health…instead of being offended… maybe take a self look…and make changes for your health.

Growing up my family always picked on me for gaining any kind of weight. Funny thing is, they’re all much bigger than I was. Sometimes people’s own insecurities come out on other people. If you know you’re unhealthy, fix it. She might be just looking out for you. But if you’re only slightly bigger than average, it’s her being rude as fuck

My Mom is tiny I’m not & she always comments on my weight I just shut her down let her know it’s rude & hurtful
I agree with everyone here. She may not have said it the right way, but most mom’s are always concerned with their childrens health regardless of their age. Why does she care? Because you are her CHILD… Are you not a mom yet? Because that protective/motherly feeling doesn’t magically go away the day your kid turns 18.

My dad has done this my entire life. He’s also told me I eat too much and when I lost the weight he said I look terrible and I look anorexic. When I got pregnant he told me I’ve gained weight and if I keep eating I’m going to be as big as a house. I had thrown everything up that day and was eating a small bag of chips. I eat too much, I don’t eat enough. I’m too big, I’m too small. My size and weight are always a topic of conversation apparently. And I am hurt and upset EVERY SINGLE TIME.
