Would you get vaccinated while pregnant?

I’m 39 weeks today, my ob has suggested getting it, I’m not taking the risk while pregnant. I’m not anti vaccine, but there is no long term information about how it can affect an unborn child. So far we are both healthy without the shot

I was working a job dealing with customers and so many of them refused to wear masks. When I became eligible, I went and got my vaccine. I’ve gotten both doses of Pfizer. The 2nd dose was a doozy the next day, but still not bad. My baby has been unaffected by it and when she’s born I will have her checked for antibodies.

I had covid at 11 weeks got my first shot a month later and my second a month after that I am now 33 weeks and everything is fine … For the record though the possible side effects from covid are pretty bad worse than anything they have seen from the shot covid is much more likely to cause blood clots

No…my go recommended it. My ob didn’t. I went on their advice. I do plan on getting it in the hospital after I give birth.

I got the 1st dose of Moderna before I became pregnant and the 2nd dose shortly after. So far, the tiny human is happy and healthy according to all scans and tests. My Dr said that it was good that I was vaccinated because covid can cause severe issues with pregnancy.

I would say talk with your doctor. I was advised to take it by my high risk ob because I work in health care. Each person and pregnancy is different so always consult your doctor.

I have a blood clotting disorder and refuse to get the covid vaccine. I’m scared it’ll make me clot more.

I’m not understanding how they can say it’s safe Long term when most people just competes their shots a couple months ago. Long term is future meaning Yeats not a couple months. Yea im not a fan. I was all for taking it but once I got pregnant now sitting at about 14weeks, I’m not going to test those waters. Yes things can be normal at first but Long term is uncertain for EVERYONE!

I wouldn’t get vaccinated, period!

Absolutely not and their not going to tell u the truth about it because they don’t know

I think this depends on your circumstances and the probability of adverse effects. I think your doctor who knows your specific risk factors could give you better information to make an informed decision. There are risks either way so why not talk to your Doctor and lay out the probably of those risks either way and go from there. There is no 100% safety guarantee either way.

Talk to your doctor weigh your options then decide

I would she and her baby can get virus so get shots!

My PT who has a doctorate got vaccinated when she was pregnant and is fine. Now her child will be born with antibodies.

il get the shot after birth

Absolutely not. Read the vaccine insert. They have not been tested on pregnant woman. If you’re considering a vaccine please do your research and wait until after you give birth.:pray::pray: Read every single vaccine insert. You can find them online and fda.gov and they will tell you not tested on pregnant woman.

Don’t do it, not worth the chance. At least covid has a higher survival rate. I wouldn’t risk the health of your baby on an experimental vaccine.

Well, the vaccine isn’t FDA approved. Kids under 12 aren’t supposed to get it. There are no long term studies. You still have to wear a mask. In my opinion, you shouldn’t get it. Especially not when you’re pregnant.

If you want to keep your baby, I would not get it. There have been so many stories of miscarriages after getting the vaccine.

I know this isn’t actually the same, but 18 years ago when I was pregnant with my daughter my Dr was going to prescribe me something. I ended up deciding not to take it and a few years after that it was deemed not safe for pregnant women. My advice is go with your gut feeling of what to do or not to do. There’s so much conflicting info out there, so I wish you the best with whichever you decide.

Wait until you have your baby I’m pregnant I’m not taking the risk but doctors say that the baby will have immunity if you get the shot. Its hard

The way I look at it is if you have to be careful of what you eat & what medications you take while pregnant why take an untested unapproved vax. We’ve already waited a year for the vax to come out I’m sure you can wait until baby is born.

I’m 31 weeks pregnant I asked my midwife and hospital they said there isn’t a lot of research at the moment but pregnant ladies in America are having the vaccine we should only get it if your are high risk of being seriously unwell if you caught COVID.

The doctors where I work advise that you hold off until the third trimester. First because your body may react to it same as when you get other shots (flu, fever, muscle cramps). Those muscle cramps and a high fever can be dangerous during the early stages of a pregnancy. Speak with your doctor and depending on the development of your baby, that is how you should proceed. The vaccine isn’t the problem, the reaction your body has while building antibodies could be the potential risk. Might be TMI, but I had a fever and abdominal cramps that lead to frequent bathroom use. Those cramps are potentially an issue during the early stages. So speak with a doctor

Get antibody test - you may have had covid and not even known it and have natural immunity - so one less thing to worry about

Wait until AFTER you give birth then get the shot if desired. Providing your not breast feeding at the time. Better to be safe than sorry.

Absolutely not! Getting vaccinated with an untested vaccine that does Not have FDA approval, is not something I would consider, pregnant or not.

I got my vaccine :woman_shrugging:t2: I’m 21 weeks tomorrow and got my 2nd dose last Thursday

Think of it this way if they’re only vaccinating 16 and up why in the hell would you put your unborn child through that :upside_down_face:

Talk to your doctor. But definitely don’t get AZ

Don’t take astrazeneca and you baby is going to get vaccin anyway for all they others think don’t see the problem my boy got 6 more vaccin then they other he got the one for brocoholite when he was a baby is 19 and very fine they don’t give vaccin for nothing if it was not needed that much they would make us pay for it but, it would leave too many poeple outside vaccinnation

I mean they literally tell you not to eat sushi, so I would say hell no. It’s too new. There are women who have miscarried after getting the vaccine. Maybe it was coincidence, maybe not, but we don’t know at this point.

If you don’t have to, no. I’d wait until after I give birth personally.

I would follow doctors advice and get it

It’s been said to be perfectly safe

They said pregnant women shouldn’t get the covid jab as there hasn’t been enough testing on them. I will wait until after I give birth

Then dont. And dont let ppl bully you.

Don’t take the vaccine it’s that simple

I say no. But I’m not getting it and I’m not a “birthing person”.:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

You said it yourself… you have no idea about the long term effects, so why would you?

I would not if it were me. This is experimental at this point and only approved for emergency use.

I spoke with my specialist and my OB provider. They both recommended the vaccine but I also work healthcare. I got the shot my 20th and 23rd week. We’re both healthy. Only side effects I had with the Pfizer was headache and a sore arm. It’s a personal choice for you and your baby but most definitely speak to your provider.

Ultimately you have to do what makes you feel comfortable. Don’t feel pressured to get it if you’re nervous. The vaccine itself is more for the moms protection. None of the vaccine gets directly to the baby. Just the antibodies that mom makes will pass to baby. Which is only a benefit! Mount Sinai has great info on the vaccine safety during pregnancy and breast feeding.

Many doctors I’ve spoken to about it don’t recommend taking the shot while pregnant but some others say it’s alright but for me I would rather wait until after the baby comes

I read that there is only studies for woman in their second and third trimester and if you get it in your third, give at least 3 weeks before birth for it to transfer to the baby.

Nope never getting that” vaccine”

I am 25 weeks high risk, I’m waiting until my baby comes BUT I’m taking precautions in the mean time such as limiting contact with people, wearing my mask etc. I’m waiting because some people are experiencing side effects like fevers etc and I have epilepsy so I don’t want to increase my chance of another seizure during this pregnancy. I would think for a typical pregnancy it would be safe but I’m not a doctor :woman_shrugging:t2:

I’ll be 15 weeks this week and it’s a hard no for me. I’d wait until after you have the baby and if you plan on breastfeeding I wouldn’t get it until your done that

Personally I wouldnt. However the choice is yours, do your research and talk to a doctor or two.

Nope, would not while pregnant just not worth the risk.

I’m not! I’m 20 weeks tomorrow and I don’t plan on getting it. My OB even said I shouldn’t.

Don’t do it…no experimental product is worth risking that sweet baby’s life, or your for that matter. If you truly want to get vaccinated, just wait until after you have the baby. It’s no longer just your body, but also your baby’s home for right now.

I’m 7 months prego and would never think of getting vaccinated while pregnant!

No, I’m immune. Our family got covid last June.
Makes the vaccine pointless for us.

I personally went by my OBs advice. They told me that they weren’t giving the shots and they didn’t recommend me getting it yet either. I would just go with what you feel is best for your situation.

I’ll be discussing it with my OB and high risk team, I’d like for babe to have some protection when she’s born!

I think you should simply listen to your intuition. We have it for a reason. If you’re not certain about your feelings, then I would suggest sitting on them a little longer before making a decision. There’s no rush in getting it IMO unless you’re working or constantly going out in public.
