Advice on detoxing toddlers?

Advice on detoxing your toddlers ? Or detoxes you have done? My son is 3, and he is not sleeping or napping and it’s not him fighting it, he genuinely wants to sleep but just cannot these past 2 weeks. thanks!

You could try a warm epsom salt bath

Remove sugars and dyes. No electronics an hour before bed/nap. Routine.

Honestly I would try other natural things first before turning to detoxes.
First thing I’d try is if he’s allowed juice… 30 mins before nap time let him have a serving of Tart Cherry juice in a sippy or cup whichever he does. It has Natural melatonin vs the supplements out there these days. Do that a few days in a row and see how it works over a few.days

Detox for what though? Many 3 year olds don’t take naps and it’s normal. Some take naps a few times a week. Past experience I know some kids even need rest time which is just laying down, but not going to sleep. But usually if you get them moving like going out for the day, playing outside, that will help with the naps especially if that’s something you don’t do everyday. Other than that 3 year olds are more in control of that, lol.

I would try exercise and having some fun. A day at the pool? A few hours at the trampoline park? A walk where you look for “treasures”? The playground?

I’ve noticed that when I am over it and I try to put them to bed early or make them take naps when they are just not tried (but I need a break) it never goes well and I end up frustrated. So go do something fun together

I certainly hope you don’t mean some sort of diet detox, other than removing things like sugar, dyes, and artificial stuff.

Many kids drop naps around age 3, especially when transitioning to school. You could try cutting naptime and/or bump up or extend bedtime and find his window when he’s ready for sleep. My youngest still says she’s not tired or can’t sleep at bedtime, but she’s clearly tired AF! You’ve gotten some good suggestions here about increasing physical activity and reducing screen time. I find water is great to calm kids and use up some energy. Try a bubble bath before bed with music. Swimming or sprinkler. Park or bike ride after dinner.

I wouldn’t “detox” a toddler but try removing refined sugars and dyes (blue and red).

Take him to the park in the evening let him run around it’s better if you interact with him.then after a warm bath

I’m currently “detoxing” my 2 toddlers from TV and electronics the entire weekend because their behaviors are out of control and messing with sleep… they are 4 and 6.
We only do naps on weekends. We start Dinner at 5:30pm and bedtime is promptly at 7:30pm every day. Dad starts the bath and reading while I clean up the kitchen.
We set timers for everything!
Hopefully a glimpse into my life was helpful. Good luck :heartpulse:

Prayers for your son in Jesus mighty name Amene

No detox needed. Give him a magnesium supplement 30-60 min before bed. Puts them to sleep and keeps them asleep. My AuDHD son’s sleep patterns were corrected immediately and it was recommended by a VERY prestigious children’s behavioral specialist in my area

Your child is 3. If he is having sleep troubles he needs a pediatrician, not a detox.

Detoxing what exactly?? This is unclear.

If he’s struggling with sleep I’d suggest starting with your pediatrician and go from there.

If you are looking for more holistic ways to treat your family I’d suggest joining some private holistic parenting groups. You’ll just get judgment otherwise. You can start with making sure he’s eating clean (less processed sugar, dairy, dyes and gluten). Limit electronics, SUNSHINE every day, hydrate and magnesium.

Good. Detox mama. All these other mamas saying “detox” clearly don’t know all the harmful things in this world.

Welcome to toddlers!! They are at the age when they start asserting independence. They WILL control the only 3 things they have control over at that age… sleeping or not, eating or not, and going to the bathroom (that part makes potty training super fun.) If the issue is your child not napping anymore because it’s not convenient for you… get over it. They don’t NEED a nap at that age.

Try the Naptime Spray.

Take that kid outside and run the legs off them! Go hiking, go to the playground, wear him out…! Sweat will detox your body and they’ll be tired enough to sleep.

Nobody needs to detox unless their liver and/or kidneys don’t work properly, in which case they should be under medical care.

I don’t know why you would detox a toddler. Probably just sleep regression.

Toddlers are toxic AF. Maybe this is a good idea :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Try clean eating ,change diets, more sun and water. No processed foods and drinks. Wash all fruits and vegetables in baking soda and vinegar like a bath for 15-20 mins. It helps immensely, also for the baby do baking soda baths take a cup of baking soda in a warm bath atleast 20 mins soaking, you can also do slices of onion on his feet at night put socks over top, keep on as long as he can over night that helps pull out harmful toxins. Hope this helps.

Check his foods for artificial colors. Was the culprit for 2of my 3 grandsons. Red 40 was the biggest offender. Long story short, ended up disposing of all foods with that crap in it. They all do much better now. I can easily tell when they’ve had some. (Babysitter isn’t careful at all). I highly urge you to check there first.

TAKE HIM TO A FUCKING DOCTOR. Fucking hell people are dumb as rocks

Detox a 3 year old??? From what?? Don’t you want your children to have nutrition?? I wouldn’t think it would be healthy for kids especially a toddler to Detox, you want them to grow

Detoxing how? Your child isn’t sleeping. Welcome to the world of parenting, where routines are fantastic, but because your kid is a person, they also don’t like to sleep even when they/you want them to. Dont try some stupid video the interwebs gave you, or stupid detox bullshit, adjust your schedule to skip the nap and put them to bed earlier, or adjust the nap time and put them to sleep later.

Sounds like he’s going through sleep regression

It sounds like he has some BIG worries for a LITTLE guy. Perhaps find out what has him stressing out and address those topics first.

I’m pretty sure that’s what his kidneys are for. Take him to the doctor.

What do you mean detox?
We have livers… any additional “detox” is a money grab plus baby is, well, a baby.

So you child has VERY real health issues and you want to ‘detox’ him instead of, you know, getting proper medical treatment.

I efffing hate people. Are you my parents??!!
