Anyone else have heavy periods?

So this isn’t mom or baby related, and it’s very much TMI but I have to ask. Do any of you have to double up on pad and tampon because you have a heavy flow? I have certain periods where I bleed through tampons in 2 hours. That’s this period. And I don’t mean like just slightly. I might as well not even have a tampon in with how much it’s leaking out. And I know it’s been inserted correctly because it would be uncomfortable if it weren’t. It’s not painful. Just a lot.

I used to get it bad too, but then I started taking the Depo Provera shot once every 3 months for birth control and soon after the initial spotting, I stopped having periods. I was on it for about 15yrs and now I’ve been off it for about 10 yrs and I never have a period and love it. I got tested to see if I was going through menopause early, since I haven’t had a period for 20 years or so, and they told me they could give me some pills so I could get my period if I wanted, but all was fine, so I declined! Lol

I suffer from this about every 6 months. It ended up being fibroids rupturing.

Yup. All my life. Loestren pill (when I was younger) & current IUD help lessen them.

Me. Every. Single. Time since getting my period. I have always had HORRIBLE periods. I can’t wait until I don’t have them anymore lol.

Me all of the time. I use Ultra absorbency Playtex tampons and wear an overnight Always pad at least 5 of the 7-10 days. I have been like this every since my period started. They suggest a low dose bc pill but it makes me sick. I have PCOS and have had a fibroid tumor removed. After surgery it was better for a while but then here we go again. 14 years ago my dr advised me to have a hysterectomy. I was not finished having kids so I declined. Now I do not have a gynecologist as mine of 25 years has passed away. I am terrified to find a new one but at this point it doesn’t look like menopause is gonna ever come. I am sick of it!
Good luck! You are not alone.

Me! Horrible heavy miserable. Ultra tampons every hour. It’s only heavy for about 2 days tho then like a normal period the rest of the cycle.

Maybe see your gynecologist

Its happening more and more!

I used to bleed like this. Turned out my issue was the contraceptive pill. If you are using hormonal contraceptives, maybe look into whether it’s that causing the heavy flow

I had super heavy periods. I had a uterine ablation. It was over 10 years ago and my periods are super light. Talk to your doctor to see if that would be right for you

I do and it’s painful sometimes. The first 3 or 4 days I have to use a tampon and pad and at night I have to use the big overnight pads with a tampon
I know TMI

I purchased a few pairs of those menstrual panties and I find they are much more absorbent than tampons and pads.
