Is there any other mom tired of hearing, “it has to run it course”? My son has a horrible cough where it rattle when he coughs. He also cough so hard it throw up little. He has a appt tomorrow, but I know they are gonna say keeping doing what your doing and let it run it course.
It does get annoying but for some virus/illnesses that’s really all you can do. Cough medicine doesn’t work half the time due to what it treats vs what you have, and always giving antibiotics can cause your system to not respond as well. Grows immune to it. So yes it’s annoying to hear but not wrong. My 1yr old had a cough that lasted 4wks. We did vics vapor cough solution, patted his back to help break up mucus, suctioned as much as possible, did steam showers, etc. He eventually got better.
The phlegm has to come out so kids often puke it up. As adults we spit it out. It never a hurts to get a second opinion but this is how it is.

Sadly you have to let it run its course
So our body can build up antibitodies
If it gets really bad
Your gp can give a 4 day course of antibiotics
I mean it’s actually fine to let things run its course rather than pumping unnecessary meds. Does it suck watching your kid be sick? yes. But part of life and sometimes that’s the answer.
