Anyone else’s kids just refuse to play with their toys?? I bought my son some pretty cool and expensive gifts for Christmas and they’re all mostly still closed and he will instead choose to sit on the couch and complain he’s bored or play with some random plush from McDonald’s and act sooooo miserable. His birthday is coming up and I’m thinking I might not buy him anything since this is what he chooses to do…
Get an experience to do with him. A zoo, amusement park, aquarium are just a couple of ideas
Best way to ensure he’ll enjoy his gifts, ask him to write a huge list of things he would like, and pick a few in your budget but don’t tell him which ones. So you know he’ll like it, but will still be a surprise on which he gets.
I did this with my older two who don’t really believe in Santa anymore. Worked a treat !
Just rewrap his Christmas presents. That seems to be the best part…opening the gifts. See if he notices.
Depends on the age, find out what he’s really interested in, kids have small attention spans anyways, my kids got all kinds of things for Christmas but are selective few with certain toys
He doesn’t like them pain and simple. Sounds like you guys need to spend more time together for you know what he enjoys and what brings his interest.
Have you tried maybe opening one or two but sitting down with him just kind of start playing with them on your own and see if he becomes interested in playing with you maybe that’ll help?
He probably doesn’t want to play alone or figure out something new without guidance.
Sounds pretty unfair to not get him anything, maybe open the gifts and make a big ordeal out of it and you two play together for some time.
How old is he? What does interest him?
Maybe he’s just not into the gifts that you got him. See what he’s actually interested in or would like instead
Maybe just have cake and one gift
Maybe he isn’t into them, instead of just not bothering actually ask him what he wants…
Threaten to give them way
My girls were same way well one .she wanted the toys but wouldn’t play with it was basically get pull out then leave it the other one I don’t even know y got toys.her sister played with them all then she had a fit because sister played with y when she wasn’t playing with. Now they are 11and 12 only thing touch now and can’t get them off for anything is tablets for anything
Yep pretty much, unless I’m playing with her
Get him a tablet. My girl loved it. Just a cheap 1 at first. They go thru a few lol
I agree, no matter how many toys she has she don’t play with them. She loves technology so prefers her tablets or fone. She’s 7 now and has a device pretty much since she could hold it, I totally would recommend 1
My child only plays with certain toy and that’s it. She has so many toys done not play with
Is he autistic? (My son is and isn’t into toys)
Are they toys he’s into?
Spend money on experiences together, if he’s bored with that i will come along and we get a sitter i felt pretty defeated about xmas too
Let him make a list of things he likes. Buy some of them. The toys don’t have to be expense for him to enjoy playing.
Ha don’t come at me Karen’s. I’m allowed my opinion and if u want Ur child to be board and wasting money on toys that ain’t played with then go for it. I never said that’s the only option. Also get with the times, is Ur kid gona be the dum 1 and not know how to use a device. Are they gona get out the encyclopaedias for school … ummmm no and are they gona use books at schools nowadays… ummm no it’s chromebooks and tablets etc , so to those whom are against technology and getting with the time and have Ur child be the one that can’t use a tablet and stuff then that’s Ur choice. They can be old school and go to the library . Also how can u call to c if they’re okay etc etc of they don’t know how to use or even own a smart fone. Nah man get with the times . And allow people to have there own opinions karens
