Anyone elses rent keep going up?

Does anyone else’s rent keep going up? When we renewed our lease a year ago it went up $30. Now I get a piece of mail saying it’s going up $50. That’s almost pushing what we bring home a week. I can only imagine next year when it goes up another $50+. This is ridiculous. It’s almost pushing a mortgage payment at this point except we can’t even save to buy a home

Yes, we’ve been here for 5 years and it’s gone up by $250…so roughly $50 a year

Tbh .my mortgage is wayyyy cheaper then anyone’s rents that I know. They pay atleast $300-$500 more than I do! It’s crazy!

Been at our place 4 years… the first 2 years it stayed the same, last year it went up $150… this year, $650! It’s ridiculous

You need to post this on your personal Facebook page,

It’s because the rates keep going up on the people who are paying the note on the building. I know our mortgage has gone up 4 times in the last two years

Ppl need to do tenancy unions! Allot of people are at risk. Gov isnt doing anything about it these owners and landlords are getting rich and no one is getting raises to keep up. My rent went up $400 this year and every year before it was $60 dollar increase too and owners and landlords do not care because someone with more money can just move in and take ur spot!

Ours has gone up a little every year. After our first year it went up by $60 then this year it went up about $40. When I asked why, they told me it’s just what they do so :person_shrugging:

Mine just got raised 65 last year and 500.00 two months ago

Ours went up $100 in VA :pensive:

I don’t rent but my mortgage has gone up $200 in the three years we have lived here

Yeah mine went up over $100 this year

Ours went up $150 this lease term so consider yourself lucky

Depending on your income level, you should check into the USDA RD program for a mortgage.

my dads mortgage has always been $447 a month, but the insurance has gone from $300 a month to almost $600 a month, since he bought house in 2016, he pays more in insurance then he does for his house payment here in florida

Honey you’re already paying the landlords mortgage with your rent money. How much you think a mortgage is? It’s almost as much as you’re paying in rent. Get your guys credit good save as much as you possibly can eat cheap for awhile and hopefully soon you guys will be able to get a loan for a mortgage.

Yeah normally rent goes up every year. Sometimes by $100 or more. Also mortgages go up, usually due to insurance. It’s unfortunate but pretty normal.

We started at 800 it’s now 1100 in just three years never knew it would go up and definitely barely bring enough home to cover it

Goes up every year. In our area, mortgage payments are usually hundreds less than rentals… It’s absolutely crazy. I was blessed to buy before COVID but I feel for those whose housing prices are out of control. Our mortgage still goes up yearly but our payments are still far less than when we rented.

If Harris gets in things are going to get worse. She already said she’s going to raise taxes.

I was a landlord and never increased my tenants rent in the 6+ years he rented from me. He just bought the home from me this year but I feel so bad for everyone struggling. Maybe you can try to find a private landlord?

Idk where you live but everywhere within 100 miles of me has seen rent double in the past 4 years. Buying a house is the same. A 150,000 house 4yrs ago is now a 300,000 house. 800 a month rent is now 1600.
The cost of living has increased to the point that it’s becoming impossible for two working adults making 50,000 a year each is struggling to make ends meet if you have children to feed and clothe.
