Any mom’s have headaches/migraines in the second trimester? I am 21 weeks and for the last month or 2 I’ve had a headache or migraine almost everyday. I talked to my doctor and she just said it’s normal in the second trimester and to take Tylenol but it doesn’t even touch it . Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I’m really struggling with it…
I have the same thing going on my doctor says tylenol or Ibephorphen but I just stick it out drink fluids and eat it usually goes away on its own
I’ve had way too many migraines during my pregnancy, I don’t like taking Tylenol nor does it seem to work. I put an ice pack on my head for at least 30 minutes at a time but definitely try adding iron to your daily prenatal
I had migraines and figured out I was low iron and had to take an iron pill in addition to my prenatal- it made a huge difference! Not sure if that is your issue but worth checking !
My ob dismissed me when I went in for a 28 day headache. Turns out I have HG. I am so incredibly sick still every day, can’t eat, dehydrated and all of this is likely causing the migraines. The ER docs told me I could take zofran and it has helped! I also take Tylenol pm or excedrin pm at night so I can try to get some sleep. Get a second doctor at your ob to take a look and make them do a urine test!
I have always had migraines since I was little. So when I got pregnant I asked for a medication that I could take when I had one because tylenol would not do anything. I forget what it was but they told me to only take it if I needed to and take tylenol otherwise.
Get a different Dr. Especially if your DR didn’t do any tests to alleviate your concerns.
I would be cross with it being dismissed like that. Headaches CAN be a symptom of high blood pressure, high blood sugar and pre-eclampsia. Whilst it’s probably nothing, I’d be wanting my urine tested and my BP checked which can be done in the Dr’s office (urine to test for sugar and protein).
I feel your pain! I had migraines at least 4x per week during the second trimester. What worked for me was drinking one cup of decaf coffee each morning, and treating with two extra strength Tylenol taken with an 18 oz. Coke (doc says you have to take them together to get the max benefit). I hope you find some relief
I had wicked daily migraines throughout my 2nd & 3rd trimester. Once in awhile, ibuprofen & iced coffee helped. But usually nothing helped.
I went to the chiropractor for my headaches and migranes. It helped me alot instead of taking meds.
I get bad migraines on an almost daily basis and this stuff helps a lot and makes it so I don’t have to take excedrin as often
I’d see a chiropractor and get regular massage
The only thing that worked was tylonol with caffiene. Thatll help kick it… i had a “permanent” headache for all first trimester in my pregnancies. For me they went away in second trimster. And then got a couple bad ones in third
