Has anyone’s child ever had elevated lead levels? My daughter does and we’re going to get my son tested. They’ll also be retesting her. I’m scared and never been through this before. I’m spiraling like is it something in feeding her, just in the house, or what
Could be in anything…makeup …cheap jewelry
I watched a video on TikTok where a mom shared her son had high levels of metals and it was due to her air fryer she used almost everyday. Worth checking that out, if you use an air fryer.
Numerous reasons. Usually old houses have lead paint, water, etc. Have the kids tested, retested as per pediatrician. If levels are extremely high, they’ll send them in to children’s hospital for treatment. I worked pediatrics for over 20 yrs and I tested patients at the office. Very important!! Had a few military kids that tested high.
Also… if the sample was a finger prick make sure the provider has your children wash their hands well with soap & water just prior. Alcohol swabs/hand sanitizer will not cut it. We see elevated lead levels d/t this poor method of collection!
My 3yr old was high at 13 from finger, 9 through vein. I hated putting him through that - it took multiple tries and both hands(5 nurses/drs couldn’t find a vein) my 2yr old however, who puts his mouth on EVERYTHING was normal. State came out, looked around had lead specialist get ahold of me- they’re coming in to test my apt this week
