Anyone here had a child that had to be put under antheseia to get teeth pulled? A few years ago my 5yr old son fell and bruised his 2 front teeth. One tooth is yellow and dentist said it is dead, and the other one is just a lil bit left but has a whole. He is going in August to have them pulled and I’m so nervous. how long does it take? How long will he be in pain?
My son had to have his four front teeth pulled when he was about 19 months old he never had a problem he is now 48 years old and has the most beautiful teeth
My daughter broke off her front teeth. No problems whatsoever. These are baby teeth and not deep rooted. She was without front teeth for a while until her permanent teeth grew in.
It really shouldn’t take too long, honestly itll take him longer sitting in the recovery area waking up than it will for them to put him to sleep and pull those. My kids haven’t had teeth pulled, but I have (not under anesthetic, just numbed the gums) and as long as they don’t break and have to dig pieces out, itll be over in no time at all. Just follow all aftercare and let kiddo take it easy, keep Tylenol and ibuprofen handy for a little bit (my gums end up sore and I have to rotate them for the first day or two), pain really shouldn’t last long though.
Mine just had 5 baby teeth pulled for his braces. Super easy didn’t bother him at all. Gave him laughing gas. He took 1 dose of Tylenol later that day but never got sore again after that.
My son was 5 and had to have 3 teeth pulled and one capped. He recovered quite quickly with the help of Tylenol for a day. I was asked if I wanted to be in the room while he was sedated (as young children literally become “The Hulk” and my experience took 5 people to hold him down. I do not recommend if you are a fainter or easily angered or can’t hold your mindset or heart calm in these situations. I knew I had to stay strong and remember it was for the best. Him waking up from the anesthesia he was so confused and just cried and cuddled for an hour straight (maybe less but it felt like forever). From admitting to discharge I’d say about 2-3 hours. Stay strong mama!!
Laughing gas and tylenol/ ibuprofen after and should be good to go and Popsicles and soft foods. My son got a filling and handled it better than I did at 6
Yes both had baby teeth pulled. One was good and took the gas and the other opted for a shot of ketamin. She says she isn’t doing it again as she had an allergic reaction.
