My son the last month or so (I made him an appointment) throws up randomly and then is completely fine after, mainly happens when he’s eating too. He mainly does it at his dads and then when he comes home to me in the morning of coming back he does it. He started kindergarten a week ago and has been doing great and actually loving it but he threw up this morning in the breakfast room and I had to go get him. Me and his dad think it’s anxiety. And he will do it with foods he likes too. Does anyone else experience this? He never runs a fever, and he’s completely fine after but it’s starting to happen more frequently.
My son did this for ever ! He started as an infant . He ended up having exploratory surgery in kindergarten and they found he had an ulcer on his small intestine . We saw a pediatric gastrointestinal dr . My grandbaby does this from being car sick . She just can’t help it
I’m not an expert… but when we experienced something similar with our child it turned out to be she was backed up/constipated.
It sure sounds like anxiety to me. I think he’ll probably out grow it. If you’re really concerned make a Dr appt and get him checked out.
My son does this well he used to. He was diagnosed owed with cyclic vomitting and anxiety 3 years ago. They did an endoscopy and a barium swallow test and found a small hernia. Its been 2 years since the vomitting but we saw a gastroenterologist for 2 years.
My daughter used to do this and it was because of very large tonsils and acid reflux. Both have since been fixed
My son does. Still does and he is 10. He is lactose Intolerant so that makes it worse if he has milk, also eating to much, to fast and getting to excited when he’s eating. Was horrible when he was younger going out to eat. Lol School use to send him home and his doctor wrote a note stating it’s his normal. Now he goes to the clinic and they help clean him up and send him back. When he was younger they did some testing to see if it was acid reflux and other stuff and it wasn’t. It has gotten a little less with age but he still does it alot.
Go to dr…could be anything…safe…not sorry!
sounds like 2 things- nerves when he’s in the situation of going to and from moms and dads. him being ok with you and not with dad sounds like dad needs to trouble shoot what can be going on to not ease his alreadybhigh strung nerves from the parent switch.
and 2- he gets acid reflux. it’s worth exploring bc theirs multiple types he could be suffering from.
Mine will eat and then drink to much to fast and throw up
My son was doing that from February- June of this year on the bus but only happened on 1 certain road on the bus route. It would happen every 3-4 weeks. Never figured out what was causing it. But he got sent home every time it happened but he acted normal.
My youngest has been having anxiety issues. She’s in 4th grade. First year having a male teacher. Nothing out of the ordinary going on, but her anxiety is off the charts because when he yells at the class she shuts down, then hours later won’t eat. She is tiny, and she’s already lost 4 lbs. Appointment made for her to see a psychiatrist. Hope your boy gets the help and you guys figure out what’s going on. Hugs
My son used to do this! Every night at dinner, Turned out he had Sensory processing disorder. Smells, taste, texture sensitivity.
My son has a really sensitive gag reflex and if he has something in his mouth that don’t feel right he will straight throw up. When he had to be fitted for an expander and they put that mold in his mouth he threw up everywhere ! If he takes too big of a bite of something he will vomit. He too only does it when something is in his mouth. I just remind him to take smaller bites and stuff like that. Now that he has his expander in and if too much food gets stuck up there he will yak everywhere !
Definitely sounds anxiety related. This happens to me alot and since I was a child. I wouldn’t rely on him “growing out of it” tho. Just presents itself in different situations. If I’m really upset or nervous about something. And sometimes I don’t even realize how much anxiety I have until I get sick. When I went back to work after home schooling for a few years, I didn’t consciously realize how nervous I was, but I puked my guts out the morning I started my first day. And then I was fine. This happens to me regularly when starting new things, or when I know I have to speak infront of large groups.
