Anyones kids had an x-ray or CT scan?

Have any other parents had X-rays or ct scans done for their children? Like more than 1? My daughters have had a couple. Just for issues with breathing during illnesses and a couple abdominal X-rays for constipation and stomach pain. All X-rays no cts, I’m just so worried sick!

We had ours done at Children’s hospital! I was able to go in with my son. I kept him calm and distracted!

With all the modern technology, X-rays are very safe. Please don’t worry. All my children have had X-rays with no problems.

X-rays are very minimal radiation compared to CT scans. I would be worried if you are getting CT scans very often, but even then the machines are programmed to minimize radiation and we are taught in school to manual technique depending on patient size. We are taught safe practices. If your kid is able to hold still and cooperate for the X-rays on the first try, less radiation for them.

My son collapsed once when he was two after a nasty illness and fever and couldn’t walk. Had him in the childrens hospital for a week where they had to do X-ray and ct scans, etc on him since he was unable to walk and were checking to see if anything was neurological. He ended up having toxic synovitis luckily but he had no issues with either and wasn’t sedated.

My son has had CTs and MRIs when he was little. He would have headaches so bad he couldn’t move. When he had them he wouldn’t be able to put pressure on his legs. He would have what they called ‘epileptic episodes’.
The only issues we had was them getting the IVs in and him sitting still for it and the fact that the rooms stay so cold. I think it’s harder on the parents watching it be done and we can’t do anything for it.
My son is 20 now and had no side effects from any of it.

My son had about 4 cts 2 years ago when he had necrotizing pneumonia. He did have side effects from so many cts with contrast with his thyroid after but it ended up clearing up on its own thankfully after about 6 months and he doesn’t have any lasting effects.

an X-ray is routine for abdominal pain or difficulty breathing. You’d have to give me a valid reason for a CT scan.

Why are you worried ?
My younger one who is 7 has had 5 mris ? 2 or 3 ct scans? A few x rays?
My 15 year old has had a few x rays

My son had an X-ray to see if there was fluid on his lungs after surgery. My daughter also had an X-ray’s before and after surgery when she cut her foot on glass to see if there was glass in there and where and if it have moved.
X-rays are very safe
