Are expensive baby monitors worth it?

Are the expensive baby monitors necessary? I was looking at purchasing the HelloBaby monitor, but I want the best so that I can let my baby sleep in his crib without me needing to sleep in the guest room next to him.

My kids ended up in my room til they were like 5.

I recently upgraded to a hello baby 5ā€ and I really like it! It has way better ratings then ones that cost more. Amazon usually has deals on them. You can even purchase mounts and they swivel to see around the room for after the baby stage. Before upgrading to a video monitor I used a cheap vtech sound only for the last 7 years and that worked great for me too. If you are going for a visual set up I would say donā€™t cheap out. Iā€™m also not a fan of the ones with wifi due to hackers and this one can charge to move around with you including outdoors

Iā€™ve had a Motorola for 3 years eith my daughter and it is still going strong for my sonā€¦ letā€™s you go at least 100ft before the reception get shaky and thatā€™s a rough estimate (ps Iā€™m a horrible judge of distance lol) i bet you can go further if you wanted to, it wasnā€™t that expensive either but ours has been put through the wringer and we got it at Walmart and didnā€™t spend over 150 for it the most expensive doesnā€™t always equal the best

I love the vtech one with two cameras it works amazing for us and itā€™s only $80

I always wanted one with o2 and pulse for when the baby was sick you have no idea how important this is to sleep when you are a new parent I went so many sleepless night with sick babies when my brother in law had their son I spent a lot but absolutely worth it and got and owlet monitor they loved loved it when he got sick everyone could sleep it helped a lot! Just wish it was a thing when I had my babies sort. Of jelly we did have an angel mat which was nice thatā€™s all that was really available at the time before the big baby tech boom but my son was a sleep walker once we switched to toddler bed oh man he was always walking around the house in his sleep getting into stuff running into doors haha well it had a pressure mat once he got up it would set off an alarm pretty loud ā€œcrappy partā€ woke everyone up but did the job had a monitor but was always cracking so we didnā€™t use the owlet sent alarms to phone way easier and has different alarm tons the major ones are loud but thatā€™s what you want the other are like a text
