Which name is cuter for my baby girl Lyra Grace (lie-ra) or Lyla Grace ?

Lyla Grace … my baby is Mya Grace
I have a little cousin named Lyra and she has been the only one I’ve known with it and you are the first to even mention it in the 4 years she has been alive… Its the more unique of the options for sure.

Lyla. I think you (and her) will be spending too much time correcting pronounciation with Lyra because even for me, until I read your phonetic I thought Leer-a, not Lie-ra. Lyla would be a little easier for people to get right.

If you use Lyra it should probably be pronounced “Lee-ra”… so I’m gonna go w Lyla

I like Lyra, but it looks like Leer-a to me. I think she’ll be correcting people forever.

Personally I think Lyra because it’s one I’ve really never heard before. Just my opinion though. Go with your gut.

Knew a lady that named her little girl Lyria - it was to be after her dad Larry.
For all those who say it sounds like an infection, it kinda does, but after you know the kid it grows on you…
Dodge Dakota why would it be pronounced lee-ra when it’s (lie-ra) just like the constellation and also because the word it derives from is Lyre which is pronounced like (lier) not (Lee-er)

Shawna Lorraine you’re right, I had to look it up. I’ve always heard it pronounced “lee-rah” or “leer”, no idea what else I associated w it to make me think that was correct. Lol. But still gotta go w Lyla out of the two- Lyra like the instrument is “liar”, and I could see her getting teased or like my first comment, frequently mispronounced.
