The OP clearly is not of native descent. Do not give your child a āIndian nameā. Pochahontas was a nickname, not her real name, given in the language of her people, which belongs to them. You may not use it. Native names are sacred, not something to be fetishized and disrespected. Your child your choice! I think both names are beautiful. If you are serious here are some girl names: Makawee, Minnehaha, Adahy, Awenita(my favorite) and some boy names: Tobey, Tala(means wolf), Turner, Akecheta. For the ppl saying stop or donāt steal native names if this list (boys) doesnāt show itās a little to late do some research a large percentage of names are from Native Americans in some way. Itās not always ppl trying to disrespect anyone itās an honor or Respect for them. America is known for its amazing ability to mix every heritage. But everyone is allowed their opinion another great thing about America. Good luck!
