Baby name ideas?

My boyfriends family is mexican. I come from a white family. We are pregnant with our 1st child and all of the females in their family share similar names. Maria, Mia, Malia…They want me to continue this tradition and find something similar. With all 3 of those names combined. I can’t think of anything…Can I get some ideas?

I hope you are only doing this because it’s something YOU want to carry on and do. don’t name your baby based on what his sisters want just because you find it hard to say no/want them to like you. I have no advice for names other than that sorry!

Amelia? Milliana? Milly? Marcella? Marie? Do you want to continue the tradition? You can name your baby what you want and give her a Mexican middle name? Hyphenate it maybe?

One of my best friends in high schools name is Mariana. I have always loved that name. I hope you find a name that speaks to you tho! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: congratulations on the baby girl!

Umm if it’s something that you want to do you have all these options but don’t do it just because they “want you to” they are meddling in your life and pretty much telling you what to do, it’s YOUR baby’s name and you should name it whatever you want, it is your first baby after all!!! If you are only doing this because you want to make them happy, keep in mind that they will meddle in your life later on …

It’s okay if you don’t want to follow their foot steps :woman_shrugging:t4: if you can’t find a name maybe it’s because you really don’t want to continue their tradition nothing wrong with that.

Name YOUR child what YOU want. You’re the one carrying, giving birth to her, changing all the diapers etc. If you have a name you love use it. It’s OK to break a tradition you had no say in in the first place.

“THEY” want…
What do YOU want?
I come from a Mexican family and they all had their opinions and suggestions regarding baby names. Ultimately it is up to you (and the father) to decide. I went with what I wanted and yeah I got back lash from his and my side of the family, but they are MY children.
If you want to continue the tradition, fine. As long as that’s what YOU want.

My question is would YOU want to continue with their tradition? Would you like to name your child something else, unrelated to the tradition? Also, is it just that the girls all start with M or do they all have similar names… I like the name Mackenzie.
