Best birth control for PCOS?

I am 26 weeks pregnant. I have PCOS and it took several rounds of progesterone, clomid, and miscarriages before we had a pregnancy that stuck.

My question is for the moms with PCOS. Did you get on birth control after you had your baby?

Yes we want another baby close to this one. Yes I know birth control can help manage your cycle with PCOS, but for me as soon as I am off of BC it just stops. No periods for up to a year, horrible acne, and crazy hormones. I would only ever consider oral birth control.

I didn’t it took another 4 years to get pregnant again

I didn’t and it took 2 years in between for the two subsequent children. Because you need progesterone as I did pay attention each month if no birth control.

I didn’t and it took 7 years between my 1st two daughters. (2 miscarriage in there, then nothing for 4 years) Then after I had my 2nd daughter I got on the depo shot. I got pregnant with my 3rd daughter within a year while on it Total shock! They’re 21 months apart.

I always get one good cycle when I come off BC. Then its back to nothing. When trying for my first, I got pg right away but miscarried. Then it took a looooong time and fertility shots to get pregnant again. When I decided to try for my second, I knew I had to catch that egg right after coming off BC, and I did. I got pg with my daughter that first month.

I hate birth control!!!
My doc put me on provera which starts my periods so I can choose when I have it , and when we decide to start for # 2 which is now lol ours is two tomorrow :sob::sob: I will take fermara during my period to help with ovulation…

I tried clomid but wasn’t for me !
I’d ask your doc about the provera or medroxyprogesterone for the period starting pill and maybe the CD chart for conception

I had this same situation and have been told that if I want another to try in the first 12months after having bubs… Extremely fertile after … I can’t go on birth control due to blood clotting issues and causes hormones to go out of whack as well… Each to there own… Knowing it can take some time once your ready to active try than stop being safe I personally wouldn’t mess with your hormones any more… As for myself I’m hoping my body will go back to some kind of normal after this bubs

Your doctor could always prescribe a hormone for when you go off birth control.

I didn’t and it took me 4 year’s to get pregnant with my second son who’s due next week.

I have pcos and after 9 miscarriages 2 ectopic s one which caused me to lose my left tube I finally had a bubba girl. Instantly started the mini pill as I was breast feeding and now have a lil 2 year old girl and a 1 year old boy. Didn’t find out I was pregnant till I was 4.5 months. There is only 11 months between them! I didn’t have a period from the time I fell pregnant with my first till my second was 8 months old.

Im 27 and have been diagnosed with PCOS since my periods started at 10. My husband and I are done having kids after having #6 in December. I started the xulane patch in February due to my PCOS symptoms worsening and bleeding through a pad an hour. I flat out told my doctor I was not treating with metformin again due to it causing weight gain which is bad for pcos. Xulane has helped tremendously. I still have pain from cysts but my period is normal now, no acne, hormones are under control ect.

Wont take it because it took 7 years to get pregnant with Aalayah. Every woman and pregnancy are different but it was very hard for baby #1. My baby is 11 mo old, been having unprotected sex since and nothing has happened. Babies take time for us PCOS ladies :[
