I get migraines that are triggered by all birth control so far… any ideas what I can take? My migraines are clinical and has symptoms similar to having a stroke and I’m so over this.
My migraines are pms related and my cycles can last from a day to weeks on end and then go away for a few days to months. So I did the depo shot and it’s been amazing. I then get Botox to help and those shots are every 3 months like depo and I over lap the Botox to when my depo is weening off
I have the nexplanon. Works wonders for my migraines. Really one of the main reasons I keep it. I get it changed every 3 years.
Mirena IUD for me. It’s good for eight years, but also, my migraines are hormonal, and this has helped reduce them significantly.
Migraines from birth control are directly related to the increased risk of a stroke. I have stroke in my family history (my dad at 26) and have had a TIA myself. I’d consult a doctor about it.
No birth control with estrogen if you have migraine with aura. The risk of stroke is doubled. I used the copper IUD.
