There’s always side affects. Especially when it messes with hormones. There are copper ones like thr iud that have little to no hormones but it still have its problems. I have had the iud. Thr hormonal one called Mirena. I hated it. I’m on nexplanon and I hate that just as much for different reasons. I usually like lo dose pills but I’m very forgetful and can’t remember to take them at the same time everyday. But she’s going to experience side affects with pretty much anything.

The non hormonal IUD but I have to say personally I hated it, it was so I comfortable for me. I’ve always had side effects with birth control. I’m trying Nexplanon next hoping the side effects won’t be so bad, but overall BC sucks :sob: glad you’re supportive and helping her though that’s great!

Nexplanon I use for 6 years and you don’t have to worry about take it. It stays in your arm until the time is up. Than they will replace it for other one .

Find a good OB and schedule an appointment. They have pamphlets and all information of different kinds. Hormone, nom-hormone, insert, shots, IUDs, pills, etc. Ones that are long term versus short term. They may be able to recommend some that would be better for her lifestyle and what she’s more looking for.

Then after getting the information, get the brochures/pamphlets and then narrow down which ones you KNOW you don’t want and then possibilities/good sounding ones.

Depot I believe lasts 3 years (might be 1? Maybe they have different kinds lol) and is just a simple shot, then there’s no need to remember daily/weekly or whatnot.

Anyways, there are dozens of choices. Once you’ve narrowed it down, go ahead and look for reviews on these particular kinds and see if the majority have had effects (anything new may give her symptoms for a while. There will also be some who just didn’t take well to it. Look for the majority of reviews on it. Not the few lol).

Good luck and it’s sooo good to see you communicate healthy with her so she can come to you!!

She needs to discuss this with her doctor. The doctor and her will decide together based on your daughters health history and what’s happening. BC has side affects there’s nothing that’s perfect. She just has to decide what side affects she’s willing to live with.

Arm implant! Nexplanon. I have had 2 and loved them

I’m on the nuva ring!

This is something she should discuss with her gynecologist, there’s tons of options

I liked the nuvaring. It helped with my cycles, they were horribly painful, no weight gain, no other side effects either. You remove after 3 weeks, wait for 7 days for a cycle and insert a new one, you can also use it for extended cycling. No need to remember to take a pill every day, no injections.

I am on depo I like it

An IUD isn’t recommended for a woman that is very young with no children yet. Although it doesn’t happen all the time, one of the risks of using IUD could make you infertile.

It’s really nice that she feels comfortable to talk about this with you.

That’s “normal” for birth control. Also birth control is one of those things where if it works for one, doesn’t mean it will the other. Our bodies react to different things

I just received $4765 for my work of previous week. my widow friend has 2 kids and she made over $12754 last month working on this. it feels awesome making so much income when people arounds you are working very hard for very less money. Details here.

Detail about this here. https://DollarSuccess470.pages.dev/

My friend got the shot and it made her gain weight & she said it caused bad depression. The IUD is alsoterrible, its known for rejecting from your body and getting lost inside your abdomen. I would stick to the pill. There are different kinds, some only have 1 hormone instead of 2. I was on the Lo Fe pill for years and I liked it. Anything new you go on will probably cause acne for the first month or so but it goes away

I’ve heard good things about the arm implant.

The nexplanon made me gain weight, extremely depressed, and when I got it out I struggled ot get pregnant. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

I know that IUDs and the depo have some serious side effects.
Some people had an IUD disappear from the uterus and pop up elsewhere in the body. Depo, it can take years to get pregnant afterwards, depending on how long you have taken it. Just something to think about.

Before I had my hysterectomy I was on the mini pill for 6 years and I had zero side effects. It’s only one of the hormones instead of both. I would like to add though, it is not as effective as a two hormone BC and has to be taken the same time everyday. But if taken correctly and using protection it is a great option with low, if any, side effects!

NUVA ring, I had all the same side effects from the pill and honestly the NUVA ring worked a lot better for me

Nuva Ring!!! I noticed no side affects from having it. I had the IUD before and I hated it

Honestly they are all so awful.
And the best ones are really the pill and the patch. They are the only ones that use both estrogen and progestin hormones.

The depo shot causes infertility so please never get the shot.

Currently I have an iud, I personally do not like it because I react really awful to progestin only bc, but because I got pregnant with my 3rd on the pill (my mistake not the pills) I didn’t want to risk a 4th until we wanted it.

Nuvaring is probably the most common one to get pregnant on.

Iuds and nexplanon also have really bad side effects from only having progestin, also Can get lost inside uterus, scars your arm, ect. But they are the most effective.

The patch is probably going to cause the same side effects as the pill.
It’s really just pick and choose.
I would suggest and iud or nexplanon. If she decides she doesn’t like it then she can always go back to the pill !

Best of luck to you guys !!

I don’t know about you, but the whole low libido thing for a 17 year old would be A ok with me😬 Anyway, I’m on Ashleena I don’t have any side effects and only have 4 periods a year it’s a 3 month supply. I’ve been on birth control for 27 years after my first child and had to go off to have my second child and had no problems

Don’t get the iud. It hurts really bad they don’t give you any numbing agents to take away the pain of having your cervix opened and the depo is awful
