Best maternity dress ideas?

Dear mamas, me and my boyfriend want to do pictures. He brought the idea of a dress up, my body confidence feels low :sweat:. Is wearing a dress well being 23 weeks pregnant comfortable? I want to but very scared to. This is my first baby and want it to b special. Opinions and advice? Please no bashing

your best bet is to go find a dress you are comfortable in. but yes, dresses while pregnant are usually super comfy!

I prefer long flowing dresses when pregnant so much freer and way more cool then pants especially in the summer!

I would wait until you are 30/35 weeks and have a more distinguished bump. You would probably feel more comfortable. But that’s just me.

Also finding a dress or outfit that makes you feel beautiful is important too.

Look up maternity pictures I think some of the best ones are in dresses.

I was heavier to begin with plus you add triplets to the mix…all I wore were dresses by the end if I wasnt almost naked lol. I hardly had any self-confidence and I look back now, and am so very happy that I went outside of my comfort zone!!! Good luck!!! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I love dresses during the summer. I’m almost 36 weeks and I wear dresses a lot. Maybe try a longer dress if the length makes u uncomfortable

I wore a Lacey shirt with cute Jean’s for my maternity shoot with my kids… then I did a seperate one with a completely see thru lace dress as a maternity boudoir shoot for my hubby on his bday… I’m not much if a dress type of girl but I loved dresses for my 1st pregnancy and was mostly all I wore otherwise I was naked lol

If you won’t feel comfortable in the dress, don’t wear it. If you find one you love and feels good on, go ahead and wear it.
I personally loved wearing dresses whilst pregnant, as they didn’t push on or constrict my belly at all.
Dress for comfort and don’t give a second thought to how other people might see you.

If you find the right dress that make you feel comfortable they can be amazing. This was when I was 38 weeks with my first and I love this photo. This was just a before dinner photo with my girlfriends

Do it! You’re only pregnant for a little bit ((though it seems like FOREVER when it’s happening)). That belly is only temporary and you’ll enjoy looking back at the pictures when it’s all over. We had our pictures done for Mother’s Day (30 weeks pregnant) and I was SO not into it cause I felt like a beached whale. Now that my son is here and all is said and done, I LOVE my pictures and I get to share with him one day that he was in my belly during this photo shoot :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Look at pinterest to get some ideas of what you may like. If your not comfortable in a dress find a longer top with leggings.

Wearing a dress at any point in pregnancy is comfortable honestly.
My go to for my first and second pregnancy. Any loose is comfortable honestly.

Girl wear that dress cause you’ll love it I have zero confidence in my body it took my husband and my aunt to convince me I didn’t look like a slut ( that’s what my mother called me any time I chose to wear a dress since finding out I was pregnant) don’t let anyone/ anything ruin your image also I was over 20 weeks in this photo

Just make sure you test it out before you use it. Dresses and anything that wasn’t snug to my body made me look like I was just fat and I’m a pretty small person. I was so upset with my maternity pictures because I looked like a beached whale in them all :sob: I had chosen a flowy dress

The only thing I willingly wear pregnant are dresses. I hate the way maternity pants sit & I cannot handle anything tight on my stomach or waist with all the pressure from the baby(ies). Occasionally I like my pj pants but very rarely. Just go try on several types of dresses.

Dresses were the only things I could wear comfortably. Everything else felt too tight. I was wearing a dress when I went into labour and went to the hospital lol

Oh man, a dress during pregnancy is the best. It’s lazy, yet super cute and comfy because you dont have to worry about your pants not fitting quite right

I was huge and feeling insecure too. I got my dress off amazon and with a fun hat and some lip stick, you can accomplish anything. It might be exactly what you need for a boost. As a photographer, get those photos. You’ll never have a first baby again, and your child will cherish them when they’re older too.

That’s all I wear is dresses and skirts :joy: I am 27w now, they are SO comfy when pregnant in the hot months. And also look really cute in bump pics … :hugs: here’s mine from 20w
