Best way to move cross country?

So I’m wanting to make a cross country move within the next two years. Yes, I know a lot can change in two years . But if anyone has moved cross country or even states how did you do it? We will get rid of a lot of stuff but the main things we’ll be taking are our tvs, my children’s beds, a hutch, and the kids dressers and maybe some boxes full of stuff. But those are the bulky items. Do you recommend pods? If so what pod company? I’ve read horror stories about moving trucks price gouging after they get to the location and then forcing you to pay different price than what was agreed upon.

Try 3 men and a truck. They were very reasonable and our there was no damage to any of our stuff.

Don’t use Two Men and a Truck. They wanted to charge me over a 1000 dollars to move 2 miles. Rip off.

I moved from AZ to KY and we ended up with a big uhaul and towed a car behind and I drove the other car with kids and animals. I wanted to do the pods but it was almost double the cost and none of them delivered to our new place which is pretty rual.

That’s why you ALWAYS get things in a written contract signed by both parties. A written contract with the exact price not an estimate but exact price for the relocation. Do your reviews on each company before making a decision.
Get a huge U-Haul as one person suggested. But like I said make sure you have a written contract signed by both parties NEVER verbal contract.

We did a big truck with no problem but there was a contract. Don’t go for anything that’s just verbal. They dropped off the trailer, we packed it, they picked it up and we drove across the county. The truck got there about a week later, dropped off the trailer, we unpacked it, and they picked it back up. Everything was paid for up front and we had 0 issues.
