Just add water. Indoor water park party in May, outdoor baby pool party in July if weather allows it. Or if it’s warm enough where you live, just fill a plastic kiddie pool and add some toys, or if you have a yard, let them run through some sprinklers.
Amass a bunch of clothes, costumes, cheap jewelry, hats, gloves, etc. Let them play dress up and have a tea party with water. You can find lots of stuff including tea cups and tea pots at Thrift stores.
Bake cookies or cupcakes and have the kids frost them and put sprinkles and/or other edible decorations on.
Gymnastics or trampoline center.
Walk in a park and have an “I saw it!” Scavenger hunt page that parents can hold and have the kids check off what they see. Have them find a flower, tree, squirrel, bird, rock, flowing water, leaf, person walking a dog, etc. Have prizes (or goody bags), eat cake and have drinks at a picnic table and end at the playground if there is one, or play running games if there’s a field/open area.
Take everyone to a show for kids and see if you can get a meet and greet with one or more of the performers.
Buy some plants or seeds, pots, soil, maybe some pebbles and have kids plant something to take home. Basil, mint or other easy to grow herbs are fun because you can taste the leaves. Succulents are hard to kill and are pretty. Pansies, marigolds, whatever grows in your area.
Or prepare a bed or planter boxes and have kids plant and water flowers or herbs for your yard or deck. Invite the kids to come visit & see how they grow.
Fill one or more kiddie pools with sand, get containers and water in spray bottles and let the kids build sand castles. Have them wear bathing suits and bring clothes and just hose them down at the end. Or get water guns and let them have a water gun fight. Or both.
