Can babies be vegan?

Your child your choice :woman_shrugging: I work in a high school and sooooo many kids are vegans and vegetarians. Just ask your pediatrician there are so many vegan options now anyway and other protein sources ( and I am NOT vegan) this is just by knowing some and seeing things

And if for some reason you can not breast feed there are soy based ones

Please consult your child’s doctor and also have your MIL contact hers for feeling the need to lecture you on what you choose to do with your child … Your child your decision. Just because she isn’t vegan doesn’t mean she needs to down your feelings on what your child eats . But again consult your child’s pediatrician I am sure there is safe healthy options that fits your lifestyle choices :green_heart:

I’d consult your pediatrician so that they can point you in the direction of any infant supplements you may need

Make sure you speak with the pediatrician before you decide this route. Infants need certain nutrients for growth and development and brain development.

Please talk to your dr, babies need nutrients for development. I know of a family that tried that and the baby died. Mom went to jail for neglect.

Highly recommend speaking with your pediatrician, as well. I know I read when I was pregnant that choline is very important for brain health and development, I believe for babies and children. It is found in eggs and other sources. That is just off the top of my head. There are so many very important vitamins and nutrients. You would definitely want to make sure the important stuff is in their diet.

Oh she’s toxic :rofl::rofl: That baby has been eating vegan since the day it was conceived. If you were eating vegan through your pregnancy that’s what the baby was eating. It is not neglectful to have your baby be vegan. Most babies start out eating vegetables anyway. You being a vegan you also already know what to substitute For your baby so that it gets all the nutrition it needs

It’s nearly impossible for a baby to get the proper amount of nutrients on a vegan diet. I would reccomend hiring a nutritionist so they can plan you a diet that meets all your baby’s needs as they grow that include vegan safe foods.

Depends on how well you know your diet. There are ways to eat vegan and still get the appropriate nutrients. Talk with your ped and look up all angles of vegan diet and how to provide adequate nutrients for the baby. Protein is a big one. Maybe a daily vitamin will help too.

Whenever I’m bored and/or need a great laugh I scroll Facebook comments. But too many of these are srsly baffling :face_with_monocle::woozy_face::laughing::scream::scream::scream:!! The lack of knowledge is mind blowing :exploding_head::exploding_head::exploding_head:.

It’s a known fact that vegetarians and vegans have a higher risk of being low on vitamins and minerals. If this happens it can cause irreversible conditions. That could lead to you loosing your child for neglect. You need to talk to your baby’s pediatrician and find out what could happen, how healthy veganism is for a growing child.children that don’t get enough vitamins can have life long illnesses. Educate yourself, and as long as the pediatrician agrees, and says it can be done safely she can’t do anything.

Too important to leave to public opinion - see your doctor/ paediatrician

It’s a known fact that most people regardless of diet are low in vitamins and minerals. Also the world health organisation has classed red meat as a type one carcinogen, like cigarettes.

Sit at the table and sit with them. Put small portions of a few amounts of food you eat. Don’t let him get up until you get up. Don’t give snacks all day or where they can get to them. You have to teach them to eat and like to eat. Give them regular children’s vitamins.

I think kids should have a right to choose not to eat GMO , fake, full off additives, cooked in crap oil food like macdonalds and KFC, like THATS child abuse. :woman_shrugging:t3:
I also don’t think children who are fed packaged snacks and junk food for tea get all the nutrients they need either. Yet no one says a word?
Yet a healthy vegan diet is frowned upon?:rofl::rofl::rofl:
Ps I’m not a vegan

Being vegetarian stunted my children’s growth. They were also forced. I think everyone should choose for themselves. However the first 6 months of life is on formula or breast milk so I think meat eating is a moot point right now.

Why wouldn’t you let the child decide for themselves when they have the opportunity and knowledge to do so?

Not her business. Not her child. Tell her to kick rocks .

And what if baby later decides he/she wants to try cheese, eggs, fish, or a hamburger ? What if your child enjoys them? Would you be tolerant and accepting?

Watch Ellen Fisher on YouTube!

As long as your baby is thriving and gaining weight, I don’t see a problem with this.

I don’t allow my kids certain food. They are my kids. Do you.
