Had mine tied 3 years ago after my third child. I was 31. Best decision I ever made. I knew I did not want to have anymore children. I had my tubes tied immediately after giving birth. They piggybacked off my epidural. I was wide awake the whole time. They made a small incision inside my bellybutton so I have no visible scars. I experience more cramping and my periods are slightly heavier. But the comfort of not worrying about getting pregnant again is totally worth it!
Did it after having an awful 3rd pregnancy - they literally removed all of the tubes at age 25. No complaints.
Mine was done laproscopically through my belly button. I was out shopping the next day! No pain, no other problems either. Best decision ever!
Had a boy when I was 23 and 6 months later I had my tubes tied. No issues at all. Good thing I did that because shortly after I was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease. I’m now on my 38th year with this Horrid Disease. My 37 yr. old son doesn’t have it.
Theres a super super small chance you could still accidentally get pregnant with tubes tied it happened to my aunt but I havent heard of it often. Only downside she ever said is sometimes her scar feels weird kinda like of c-section scars feel
I had mine done at 34 after my 6th ceserian section, I was kinda pressured into it an the past 2.5yrs iv regretted it everyday it’s a huge decision so think really hard before you decide xxxx
I had mine done and ended up with heavy bleeding every month, cramping and blood clots. I ended just going in for a hysterectomy this year
No regrets! I was 25 and 5 weeks pp. Recovery was easy no meds. But my belly blew up like a balloon, lol.
Periods are the same as before I had it done.
Tubes tied after 2nd baby. A week later dr learned to do it laparoscopically.
Had mine when I was 22. I had 2 sons and was quite content with no more!! No regrets!!
My first tubal was done right after my second son through the belly button. 4 yrs later I had my 3 son , they gave me another tubal 2nd one , and a year nd 1/2 later I had a tubal pregnancy burst nd I was Hemorrhaging, at that point I got a Partial hysterectomy at age 37
I had it done…after my 3rd & must admit I cried for a day or 2 over a sense of loss…I’d never be a mother again…got over it…& no regrets having it done
Had mine done and heavier bleeding. Ended up having an endo ablation done
Had my tubes tied when I was 27, with my third daughter… my Ob at the time really was pushing it, along with my own mother. I haven’t had any medical issues from having it done over 11yrs ago now. Just be completely sure you’re done. I have so much regret from doing it, I’m 38 I truly have wanted another child for the past 8yrs so don’t rush into it. Don’t get pressured into it. Do it if you truly want it done.
Had mine back in 2007 it went well and have had no problems after. My periods are regular for the first time in my life and last a few days but are very painful!!! Not sure if the pain is associated or not!!! But made a good decision doing it!!!
Had it done 6 weeks after my 5th child was born, your shoulders are sore the next day which is weird but they explain it to you. Best decision ever, but I have to admit I do get baby fever every once in awhile but don’t regret getting my tubes tied.
Had mine done almost 2 years ago now. The healing process was easy and the scars are barely noticeable. No regrets whatsoever.
I had my tubes cut tied and burned at age 32 right after giving birth. I didn’t have any complications. Still have bad periods and cramping but glad I did it.
I was ready when I did it. 2 children. I never thought about it again. I don’t remember the after physical part.
I had a tubal ligation when i was 24 amd done right after my second son was born by c section. Mine was done because of health concerns. But I have had no issues until now after 17 years. But now have scar tissue. And I have shorter and lighter periods.
I had mine completely taken out last October with my 4th pregnancy, I always was a high risk with each one and got pregnant this last time even with protection so I knew I didnt want anymore. Easiest decision I have ever made and don’t regret it one bit. The period cramps are a bit more intense for me but ive made model my friend.
I got mine tied 3 years ago. Best decision I ever made (I don’t have children)…outpatient procedure so i was in and out the same day. the only thing I experience now is some occasional pain - usually the 1st day of my period. No scarring as I had this laparoscopically. My period lasts 5 days and is less heavy than when I had the IUD
I had mine cut, tied and burned back in 86 after having my 3rd child. Was on birth control and still got pregnant with 2nd and 3rd kid so thats why I decided to get my tubes tied. Exactly 1 year after that procedure I got pregnant with 4th kid so had a partial hysterectomy done. Had no pain with either surgery.
I had mine done when I was 28. I knew i didnt want anymore Children. I have 3 amazing wonderful 1 girl and 2 boys. I have a small scar in my belly button. And I get cramps when I get my period but It was soo worth it knowing that i wont have anymore babies lol.
I had mine done with my 3rd during his C-section, I was 34. I have had no issues, that was almost 9 years ago.
I had mine tied 30 yrs ago dont regret it, no problems afterwards , had them done next morning
Had my tubes done almost 11years ago after my daughter was born. No complaints my periods are regular.
Had done st same time as c-section. Pregnant again 4 years later.
I had mine done had to stay overnight and you get a shot in your back. Don’t even know it the next day and peace of mind not worrying about getting pregnant.
Age 29 after 3rd child, no complaints, periods normal for me, unpredictable.
Not any side effects. They are just clamped. Diesnt mess with your hormones.
I had mine done after my second child. I was 23, do I regret it not at all. I new I was done having kids.
Had mine done at 35 after our 3rd. No regrets. Periods didn’t change.
Had mine done last month after my 4th baby. No regrets. Pain was a little intense.
Had mine done right after my c section. No issues.almost 6 years ago.
Biggest negative heavy crampy periods
I was 25. I had mine removed , no regrets , no problems
So happy I got mine done!!! No regrets
I had mine done when I was 28 after I gave birth to my daughter. She turns 8 in June. It was one of the worst decisions of my life. My cycle is still on track but my periods are absolutely horrible. My flow is extremely heavy and I experience horrible cramps. I dread every month my period starts. If it was me, I would talk to your partner about him getting a vasectomy.
I had my tubes tied after my 4th child in October 2017. The pain was bad after. Lasted about 5-6 days. Ever since I only get a period once every 3-4 months. Sometimes 5 months. And when it comes it typically only lasts 3-5 days. It’s heavy the 1st day…then a normal pd. until nothing. They go thru ur belly button if you have a vaginal delivery. Small scar u can’t even notice.
I got my tubes removed just over a year ago. It was 100% a great decision. Surgery went well, had some soreness for a few days but recovery was uneventful. My first few periods after where a bit more painful but then they leveled off.
Never made a difference in anyway except I couldn’t have babies anymore. I’ve always regretted it tho. But, I wanted more than two. Mine was medically necessary.
Mine was medically necessary, had it done at 28 after my last son was born. It was a very simply procedure, the worst pain was the gas that they pump into you during the surgery, is escapes through your shoulders. My first few periods after were heavier than normal but then they went down to a lite flow for 3 or 4 days.
My periods have gotten so much better. They last three days a week with minimal pain which is saying a lot since I have endo. The recovery pain was horrible tho but no regrets here. I’m 27 and have to boys.
i’ve had it done 6 weeks after my third. i have zero regrets. everything went great! my youngest will be 9 in April so it’ll be 9 years in May that i’ve had it done and i honestly have no complaints or regrets! good luck!!!
My period cramps got 1000% worse after getting my tubes tied. I finally got a hysterectomy to end the pain.
I am having a scheduled c section next friday and my Doctor will be removing a section of my fallopian tubes so long as there isn’t excessive scar tissue from cysts. I’ll let you know how it goes. I’d honestly rather he take my ovaries tho
I skipped getting tubes out and threw the whole “oven” out…and eventually the man.
Had mine removed after my 3rd csection. Healing was different only in regards to gas pains that I had no experienced with my other 2 csections.
I got my tubes tied due to having epilepsy. II regret ever doing it but then I think to myself I did it cause didn’t want to pass the gene for epilepsy on. Since I had it done I go through notable back pain when start my period.
I had mine tied 10 years ago after my third child everything has been good so far flow , no pain etc the only thing is sometimes I regret it since I divorced and remarried
31 next month, had mine tied after my 4th child in Jan 2018. I regret doing it. Although my periods have been more regular after having it done, than ever before in my life, I have terrible PMDD symptoms now. I cramp way above my belly button now, and cramps are worse than ever. I get horrible mood swings a week or 2 before I start. Wish I would have chosen a different route now…
I got mine tied after my 3rd kid. Almosy a year ago now. No regrets, periods are heavier than before but nothing else has changed besides that.
I had my tubes tied after my 3rd, I was 32, no problems since and definitely no regrets x
I was sterilised after number 3, I was 28. Absolutely zero regrets… no more monthly “what ifs” and false alarms. The procedure was straight forward and I was home within a few hours.
Had mine tied after my 3rd. Instant regret. Had them put back together 7 years later. Had 2 miscarriages. Periods were the same. But never got pregnant after the miscarriages. Definitely regret .
I had mine done when my youngest was 10 months old,I was 36,I have 4 kids and 3 step kids so me and my ex decided we didn’t want anymore, had no problems with the surgery, intense pain after for a couple of hours, then slight pain for a week or so while everything healed,I’ve never regretted it as it was what was right for me,everyone is different tho some people think they want it done then regret it straight away, I think you need to be 100% that it’s what you want and that your family is complete,as they will tell you it’s not cheat to have it reversed and there’s no guarantee it will work either xx
I had my tubes totally removed after I had my third during a c section. It was simple and I didn’t even notice the recovery. My periods are normal and less painful. I highly recommend
I had my tubes tied 6 weeks after my 3rd son. Don’t get me wrong I don’t regret doing it but for me my periods after were horrible! But everyone is different! My youngest turned 10 this past September!
Had my tubes cut when I had my fourth! Was the best decision health wise and although I did pine for a baby for a few years I’m so glad I did it when I did, I had a c-section and it was done at the same time. However, before they were tied I was like clockwork, was regular flow, not much cramps and didn’t really have any issues but as soon as they were cut, I became really heavy, and constantly flooded, was using tampons and pads and still flooded, the cramps were horrific and the mood swings, well they were on another level! As much as I didn’t want another baby, the changes have been a lot to deal with, Maybe look at the coil or something, mine have become so bad I’ve decided I want to have a hysterectomy to stop it all together but my doctor doesn’t agree even though they allowed me to be sterilized at 27, they won’t do the hysterectomy till I’m older as if I’m going to change my mind after four kids and the last one being eight years ago! Seek out all options first
I had my tubes tied after my second daughter and I have no regrets but my mom had hers tied after I was born almost 31 years ago lol and her periods have been horrible ever since. I think it just depends on the person. Good luck
Well it’s a hard life right now I think your good four kids I had 5 lots of work better to stop in my eyes
Had mine tied after my 4th child. Has been 4 years ago. I will say my periods got worse heavier flow and more painful plus they last longer also.
Best decision I ever made.Normal periods,no cramps,no birth control and sex became te BOMB!!!
I had 4 then said screw it and had everything removed
If you are done having. Children I got my done in88 right after having my 3rd child
Happy after 3rd child. Never had normal cycles until my tubal. No issues
Had mine tied no regreats
I almost had my tubes tied after my 3rd son. I ended up not doing it and I had my little girl 13 years later. My children range from age 27 to 3. I wouldn’t have it any other way. She completes our family in a way that we didn’t even know was missing. I will never regret not going through with the tubal.
Best thing I ever did
It was amazing and painless. Very quick recovery!!
Had mine done the same day I had my son. Year later I healed and miscarried. Waited 3 months to get them done again.
Tubal ligations still have a low pregnancy risk. 1 in 200 women get pregnant after a tubal ligation. You have to inform of all the risks.
I removed my fallopian tubes.
Regarding periods every woman is different. You will still have a period. It could be lighter bleeding, same bleeding, or more bleeding my gyno told me. After surgery your body still takes some time to get regulated anyway.
Best decision ever! Recovery wasn’t bad at all. Only took Tylenol. My periods have never been normal but since getting the surgery, my periods are normal.
I had mine done after I had my son 15 months ago. I was down for about a week then was fine after that! Periods are staring to regulate since I stopped breast feeding
I’m so glad I had it done
Had my tubes tied when I was 25 my biggest regret ever. Not only because I do want another baby 6 years later, but my periods are heavier then they used to be.
Studies show that ovarian cancer starts in the tubes so why not lower your risk even more by just getting your tubes removed?
I had my tubes tied the very day I gave birth to my only child. ( he is 21 now) I had to go to counseling before my dr would agree. LOL. I was 25 and KNEW I didn’t want more kids. Never regretted it.
I had mine removed last year. EASIEST thing ever!
They don’t tie them anymore. They take them out instead as it reduces chances for ovarian cancer by 25%
I was in an abusive situation so I had my tubes tied which was great. Now that we’re divorced and I’m finally remarried, I want to have another one. Thankfully, because I had the “bands” they were able to connect my tubes again but I have yet to get pregnant. It’s great if you’re sure you are done. I had no complications after and it was a quick surgery and recovery. I just wish I didn’t have such a hard time conceiving now
Had mine done, no problems at all. 30 yrs ago
I had mine done and got pregnant with twins and one was in my tube. Lost both and almost died because the tube ruptured while in surgery for DNC. Don’t do it
I had my tubes tied at 21 it was good my period only lasted one day heavy but stopped right after one day and I didn’t get period cramps anymore used to double over in pain, and no menopause symptoms at all period just stopped at 50.
Mom of 6 here Im 35 as well it honestly was the best thing for me I was so scared to do it but I don’t regret it at all and my periods are actually irregular since I would say I get it like every other month I don’t mind though
I had mine when I was 32. About 9 years ago after my fourth child. My recovery was a little harder than most. I had a lot of pain for that first day. I have heavier periods now. I do not regret it.
Tubes tied after 4th child. Bled so much afterwards that I ended up having a hysterectomy. I heard periods were worse afterwards.
I decided to have my kids at a young age. I hated the fact that all my friends had grandparents and mine were gone. After 4 kids I said enough. Great not having to worry about a surprise! Now I not only enjoy grandchildren but 3 wonderful great grandchildren! Life is wonderful with the kids babies in my life.
I had my tubes tied at 26. I had an infection after a few days, and I had pain in the area for like almost 2 years. Periods are still bad, they always have been. I think it depends on your body & your doctor. Best of luck
I had my tubes tied when my youngest was 6months old. Surgery on Friday, back to work on Monday. Periods same as before.
Had mine at 21. Serious female problems. Had many fur babies instead. That was 50 years ago. My period no change
Just no worry about birth control.
I had a bad reaction to the meds so they halt the surgery. Then I had my 3rd. Yes. I was relieved I had not tied yet and now I’m struggling with the idea of being unable. I don’t want more kids but I’m still afraid I guess. But the period from what I hear It’ll be the same as it was before
