Can I put a dream catcher over my daughters crib?

I know this is a weird question, but I’m a first-time mom and my mom got me a dreamcatcher to put over our daughters crib. Am I able to do that? I’m worried that feathers would fall off or beads and whatnot. Any thoughts?

I put my daughters in her window.

My kids all had one hang it on the wall above the bed at the head high up of course

I have a little one I put on the wall. I didn’t hang anything above the crib - safety.

You can. I’ll will say…that if you are worried, it’s not worth it. I struggled with postpartum anxiety, so anything that contributed to that just wasn’t worth it.

Absolutely. My daughter has a dream catcher over her bed. My son is getting one for Christmas. Since she’s had it, she’s slept sooo much better

I had a big dreamcatcher hanging opposite side of where her crib sets. I feel safer this way any unknown object not fall in the crib to harm the baby.

Absolutely I make them and always keep one over my daughter’s bed or crib. As long as it’s high enough up and made right shouldn’t be an issue

What does a dream catcher do?

Just make sure all the beads and feathers are secure before you put it up to ease your worries. Make sure it’s high enough for your child to not reach.

Put it beside her crib instead of over it

My daughter has had a dream catcher hung up since she was 6 month. She’s now 5 years old and not one feather has fell out.

I would put it on the wall or close by not hanging directly over incase of chocking or strangulation risks. My kids have had them in their bedrooms since they were babies just way out of reach

Dreamcatchers should be hung in a window. But no it won’t harm baby, when baby is big enough to stand in their crib I might move it.

Get them made from an actual indigenous person… don’t get the crap from stores.

My son went through a phase of having bad dreams when he was 6 or 7. I brought home a dream catcher, told him about it and hung it in his window. No more bad dreams…for whatever reason!!

I honestly don’t think I’ve ever seen one fall apart

You can. Just like moms who put blankets & stuffed animals in their infants cribs. Is it a good decision? The fact that you’re uneasy about it says it’s probably not.
