Can I take an infant trick or treating?

Early October mamas! I’m due October 12th but my first will be 2 and actually able to trick or treat for the first time this year so I really want to walk with him… experiences? Advice? Am I crazy for even thinking this?

My son was born on Halloween…my son’s first holiday was Thanksgiving…I still took him to enjoy the festivities lol. When trick or treat came around again he had no interest, but we went with friends and their kids and it just got him out, having fun, got me out lol. Just u going around knocking on doors for candy is silly, but not as some houses give out stuff just for adults but with a baby… but if you went with someone. The other thing to consider is the weather. I’m in Wisconsin so Halloween can be warm or cold and raining or snowing. So with that small of a baby I would take that into consideration and thets when comes and flu start making rounds so just keep all that in mind. And again who doesn’t love a baby and I think most would see it as you just trying to get out of the house for a little bit and be understanding

I took my baby out and she was born in August. My bestie at the time had one born on Oct 11. She had older kids too. We had a good time just walking around the neighborhood. Just prepare for the weather. And maybe wear a carrier

Personally , I will not, but your other kid deserves to have the experience, you should considered the weather, the neighborhood and the baby routine, also you need to consider that your older will need assistance, like you will need to hold their hand in case of running or the kid being scared to some costumes, might get tired of walking and stuff like that, if you have someone who can go with you guys that will be perfect

Just make sure baby is bundle up if you’re in a colder state like I am and everything will be fine!! There’s so many cute baby outfits for trick or treating!!

I have a Sept baby & Oct baby. I took neither trick or treating. My daughter was 1.5 when my Sept baby was born.

Our weather has a lot to do with it. It’s always cold & rainy in Halloween. I stuck to indoor activities until my kids were around 5. At that age they get into it more & are able to articulate if they’re done.

Decide when the time comes if you want to do it or not. There may be school activities or something small. Where’s dad have him do it and you stay with the new baby.

Can’t dad or someone stay with newborn? I think it’s ridiculous to even consider taking out a newborn.

I had my baby Oct 1st last year and we still went! I just wore the baby in a pack and had him bundled. We also went about an hour before the sun went down so it was still warm and the older kids had plenty of time to go around!
