Can I take dayquil while breastfeeding?

Google is no help and my doctors office is closed now. Is DayQuil okay to take while breastfeeding? I have a 2 month old that is Breastfeeding and I’m definitely sick from what my 5 year old dragged in from school.

Antihistamines, and decongestants, can impact milk supply. You can use a nasal spray, that will help with congestion without possibly lowering supply.

You can also take pain relievers! That’s basically all that’s in DayQuil. Pain relief + decongestant.

I think this is something you should ask your doctor just to be safe.

I’d stick to painkillers and caffeine. It’s a great decongestant and something like Cola or Dr Pepper will help you feel brighter too.

Absolutely not safe. No medication (prescription or over the counter) is truly safe, especially when pregnant
