I’ve been in a long distance relationship for the last 9 years. However, we’ve known each other since we were 13 and went to school together. We were always friends and kept in touch every so often via Facebook. In fact he was the first one to friend me after I signed up (aside from my kids). We met again at a party after not seeing each other for 30 years. We hit it off, and have been together ever since. We talk/text every day. We talk about everything under the sun. The last time we were actually in the same place together was 7 years ago. He will be moving to where I am next year. So yes, they can work and some work very well. Communication is key.
