Can ultrasounds be wrong?

Can ultrasounds be wrong? I did a private ultrasound at 19 weeks and they said girl. Baby was super active and then I had my anatomy scan that following week super active barely could get pictures and they also said girl but my gut feeling tells me other wise I’m hoping it’s correct but I just can’t shake that feeling. Just wanting to see if anyone has experienced wrong gender ?

They can always be wrong, but 2 different techs at 2 different ultrasounds I’d say it’s most likely correct

The way I would cry if mine is a girl. At 2 Sonos and 2 blood test saying boy and I’m 27 weeks . If it’s a girl at delivery I’ll be devastated . (Mom of 2 girls already)

I doubt it since 2 test says the same but nothing is impossible.

I’d say it’s probably correct. It’s pretty easy to decipher between the two and if two different techs said girl I’d assume they’re right.

Mine was wrong lol said girl at first then I had one at 8 months along and find out it was a boy I was like omg lol

Usually girls are the more active ones, both of my sons I had to do the drinking juice and laying on left side to get them going to check on them. My daughter made her presence known at least half the day on her own.

We ended up doing the NIPT test at 14 weeks. My 20 week anatomy ultrasound is in 4.5 weeks

This was supposed to be my little girl. I said my entire pregnancy I felt like it was a boy. Two ultrasound techs in two different towns told me girl… at my last scan before labour I found out he was a boy. So yes scans can always be wrong they are not a guarantee

My best friends little sister was told a girl at her appts. Ty is definitely not a girl. However that was before these 3d ultrasounds they do now.

With my first I was told boy and I was surprised at birth with a girl! (I only asked the gender once at the first time they could check) when I had my second I made sure to ask at every appointment lol

With my 3rd baby, I had 4 ultrasounds that the tech told me it was a girl. He has a heart defect so I had more ultrasounds than normal. The 5th ultrasound they told me it was a boy :joy: due to his heart defect I had an amniocentesis and that confirmed that he was indeed, a boy!

My 2nd pregnancy I had to have scans every 2/3 weeks or so from 20 weeks on , was told boy on at least 7 occasions bought everything blue / boy oriented imagine our surprise when I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl !!! It was a shock but I got to go shopping again!

Was told my whole pregnancy I was having a boy, had everything bought, found out at delivery it was a girl and I had nothing to bring her home in lol, my mom went to the store and got me an outfit

Yes, could be! Or u have your hopes up for a baby boy! Come back later and let us know what you do have!

I am pregnant with my 5th baby and every pregnancy they performed genetic testing in addition to an ultrasound. I highly recommend doing that test to be sure.

My partner was a boy until she popped out

My cousin was supposed to be a boy and came out girl. Yes they can be wrong.

I doubt especially since from 2 different scans

Yes, at 5 months with my first ultrasound said she was a boy… the day I went to labor she ended up being a girl

Very much so… my ex sister in law was a nurse and 3 ultra sounds told her that it was a girl… it was not!

I had several scans with mine. Said it was a girl. My gut told me no and I was right. My boy came via c section healthy and peeing on the Dr. Lol

My friend was told girl at all her scans and had a boy

I know people that have had wrong scans & wrong blood tests :woman_facepalming:t2: so the most accurate way to find out gender is when they’re born

But since they said girl in more than one scan I’d say they may be right.

2 girls, 1 boy, he was very obviously a boy on scan x

We were told a boy but we had a girl

Have bloodwork done! Simple

Just look at the blood test

You can do the blood test

A blood test should confirm

Almost 14 years ago we had three ultrasounds say girl - we discovered their error the day he was born!!

What happened to just wanting a healthy baby?

It’s easier to miss the penis if they are active or hiding BUT if a penis IS visible it’s pretty much a guarantee

My friend was supposed to have a girl and she had a boy.

I had 3 scans (including 1
and I was told girl for 34 weeks… lol

I would just get the bloodwork done

Only definitive way is blood work or birth

Yes! Our little “girl” just turned 3, June 5th 2024. He pee’s standing up. He came in at a whopping 1 pound and 7 ounces…And he never shuts up!:joy:

U Just WANT a boy. Two people already told u it’s a girl. Are you stupid??
