By law if you pay a medical bill off they have to take it off your credit! I paid mine off and my credit jumped up really high
First thing is to go ask a mortgage company make appointment they will let you know if they will finance a house for you and the amount they will finance so you know what dollar amount to look for when searching for a home.

USDA rural development home loans
Hey- I’m a loan officer for a bank in illinois. It may be different state to state but around here 620 is the lowest score we can take. The lower the score the higher fees you pay as well. If you need to buy now verse paying off your collections first then my best advice would be to look into a FHA loan where they can take as low as 580.
