Can you prevent a miscarriage?

Who has had more than 2 miscarriages & has a rainbow baby? I’ve had 3 miscarriages & im currently pregnant.

I don’t know how to prevent from having another miscarriage & I don’t know how to take care of myself not to lose this baby. Please help, any advice will be taken into consideration. I don’t know what kind of doctor to go to either.

I have never miscarried, but you will probably be referred to a high risk doctor. They cant really prevent it. If they knew why, that may be a way to help you not to.

I had a teacher in college and his wife kept having miscarriages. She was told to take one baby aspirin a day to decrease the risk. They now have like 4 kids. I would definitely ask your OB about it! They even put me on it with my daughter to cut down some of the risks of my pregnancy.

I had miscarriage, stillbirth, miscarriage. I’m 39 weeks with my rainbow. I’ve been monitored extremely closely with multiple ultrasounds and after 25 weeks weekly monitoring at the hospital

I’ve had two my last February 28th and now 18 weeks pregnant with my rainbow baby. I’m considered high risk and am watched by the doctor very closely

I had 2 miscarriages and I’m currently pregnant with my rainbow baby. Just try to stay calm and not think about what might happen or what could happen.

Positive atmosphere, positive thoughts, no strenuous activity until
Your in the clear, keep stress at an all time low and eat as healthy as possible. Unfortunately sometimes you can’t prevent it. Sometimes you can do everything by the book and it still happens. Have faith and trust that God knows what he’s Doing. Good luck and bless you and your family

I had 2 miscarriages and am having my rainbow in just under 2 weeks. I would see an OB not a midwife and I would ask to be seen by a geneticist. They are able to run early tests to check on baby, make sure there’s no genetic issues that may be causing the miscarriages and things like that. Take it easy and don’t stress yourself out, and definitely start a prenatal vitamin.

You go to a high risk doctor, referred by your OBGYN. My mom had 9 miscarriages and two babies. Talk to your doctor about what you can do.

I have had 4 miscarriages and 1 ectopic that ruptured and literally almost killed me!

After my 3rd miscarriage, they finally found out that I have a disorder called “MTHFR”. My case was mild and had to take baby aspirin and methol folate once a day, everyday of the pregnancy. Some cases can be more sever and have to take blood thinner injections!

I now have a 4 year old healthy boy and a 4 month old healthy girl.

Take it easy and don’t over do yourself! Ask your OB to test you for the MTHFR gene, it’s more common than you think.

My heart goes to you sweetie. I’ve had 9 natural miscarriages, a miscarried set of twins with IVF, a healthy now 8 year old IVF son, 2 natural miscarriages after him and a natural rainbow baby boy who is now 3. There’s nothing harder than losing your baby. As long as your healthy there’s nothing you can do better. Most reasons for pregnancy loss is the progesterone level. Talk to your doctor about this because even on my natural rainbow baby I was put on progesterone to help.

Have you had your progesterone checked? Call your OB or primary for blood work. Either prescribe it if it’s needed.

My mom had two ectopic pregnancies before me

I had 3 then given birth to my rainbow daughter was a very hard pregnancy was in the hospital most of it. She was born at 32 weeks and had a NICU stay but not long… I had bad bleeding and was bleeding out then had a blood transfusion and then got blood clots… But my 5th pregnancy my second daughter the pregnancy gone perfect she was just born at 34 weeks… Just a 6 day hospital stay… Keep calm and good luck… Anything is possible

I’ve had 3 miscarriages and have a 16 month old now

I had a miscarriage, then a rainbow baby, then another miscarriage, then another rainbow baby.
I never did anything special. Just took it easy and didnt do anything questionable.

Drink a lot of water, no soda. Eat healthy. If you’re overweight, lose it. No fast food. Get checked for celiac disease. Eat home cooked. Take vitamins.

Momma I wish you nothing but the best. I had two miscarriages a rainbow baby one more miscarriage and I have a brand new baby girl. It was extremely stressful and it was so hard for me to be excited about any new milestone in pregnancy. I hope you have a healthy pregnancy

I’ve also had 3 MC, had my rainbow Dec 2018 and now currently 11 weeks pregnant with mt golden. When i first found i was pregnant with my now 7 mnth old i was soo scared but just think positive and try not to stress. The baby can feel it. Try to eat lots of fruits and veggies and just take it easy. I know its easier said and done. Go see an ob and let them know your history. Most of the time they will consider you high risk…prayers your way

Bring it to the Lord in prayer.

Sometimes we dont know why miscarriages happen :frowning: I had a healthy girl, 2 miscarriages in a row now almost to my 3rd trimester with another blessing.
Didnt do anything differently. Make sure you follow your doctors reccomendations… stay on top of your prenatal, good diet, exercise.

I don’t know what to say but I do know someone who has 5 children and several miscarages she still has a large family it’s a hard thing

Make sure they are regularly checking your progesterone levels. I had to take progesterone for both my babies to prevent miscarriage and preterm labor. I got blood draw every 2 weeks.

Bed rest as much as possible

I had 4 miscarriages before finally having my rainbow! Best advice is get in with an obgyn as soon as possible! Explain that you’ve had previous miscarriages and some will see you sooner than usual! Have them test your progesterone and make sure it’s not too low! Take your prenatals at the same time EVERYDAY take care of yourself and make sure your not stressing or doing too much lifting or anything strenuous! Good luck and prayers mama!

I had 7 consecutive miscarriages, followed by 2 healthy pregnancies.

Turns out it was from an overly scarred cervix and uterus.

I drank red raspberry leaf tea - 3-5 cups a day! For weeks on end and then throughout my pregnancy.

It made my periods heavier but I think it helped in shedding extra uterine lining!

Don’t buy it from any grocery store though, buy it from a health food store.

I found it tasted best if I made a whole jug like you would with juice, add some sugar, then cool over night!

Get to high risk ob. I had to my body tried many times to go in to labor but made it to full term. Eat healthy, take vitamins, hydrate, decrease stress… I was put on bedrest and medications to stop labor it helped.

I had multiple miscarriages and now have my rainbow baby. My doctor told me to take folic acid with my prenatals and she also had me on minor bed rest majority of my first and second trimester with extra monitoring.

I’ve had 3 and have 4 kids total now.

Sending good vibes and well wishes your way for a healthy and happy delivery!:orange_heart::yellow_heart::green_heart::blue_heart::purple_heart:

I just had surgery 3 days ago from a missed miscarriage it was my second one. I have a 5 year old rainbow baby that I got pregnant with 3 months after my first miscarriage. Usually if you’ve had more than one miscarriage they run tests to see if it could be a reoccurring problem. Having a miscarriage is awful and there’s nothing you can do about it unfortunately besides get those tests done to make sure your chances of it happening again aren’t High but of course it can always happen. I would also request going to a high risk doctor. We are going to try to have another baby but of course we are scared to death. If it wasn’t for my rainbow baby being healthy and happy we probably wouldn’t be trying again. Just trying to take it easy and stay positive.

Currently on my 7th pregnancy and only 1 live birth. Rainbow babies are possible and can thrive. A low dose aspirin a day and a prayer can go a long way!

I already commented but you dont have ‘o’ negative blood do you? That is what caused my first miscarriage I was never told about o-negative blood causing you to miscarry but it will. You have to get a rhogam shot and your baby will be okay but I had an OBGYN that had me on fertility medicine for years and if it wasn’t for me miscarrying out-of-state I would have never learned about it.

I’ve had 2. A son and a daughter.

I have had 10 miscarriages and finally got my miracle baby. It is very hard bit dont get discouraged and be positive. You got this momma

Please take folic acid during first trimester and avoid eating egg(unless its boiled egg)avoid drinking too much coffee, noodles and canned goods.

I had 4 after i had my daughter. And am now 7 months pregnant. Honestly i was suprised i didnt lose this one. I just kinda waited.

My mom had no lie almost 12 miscarriages. She had me and my two brothers in between them all. I know her reason but i hope your able to get to term

I’ve only had two before my rainbow however I can suggest a maternal fetal specialist for your doctor. They are awesome and specialize in high risk. I would also like to let you know there is a website, babycenter, and it has a lot of boards for moms. Birth boards, pregnancy after MC boards, rainbow baby boards, and there are a lot of nice people going through the same situation. Good luck!

I am having my rainbow baby Tuesday after 2 miscarriages. We were terrified to tell anyone. Hubby and kids were and still are very overprotective. Prayers for a safe and healthy pregnancy. I also avoided pineapple like the plague. Ate it like crazy with previous pregnancies because I thought vit c was healthy. Could have actually caused the miscarriages. :pensive:

Just go about your normal day unless your on bed rest and what will be will be. Ive had 3 misses and 3 healthy daughters

I had 12 miscarriages and then my 2nd stuck, then had a 3rd, then a 4th, and have had 2 miscarriages since my 4th.

Studies are revealing that progesterone is helping pregnancies stick (wish these studies came out years ago). Extra folate, bed rest, good nutrition were what got my 2nd to stick around.

I had two miscarriages and now I have two beautiful children one boy and one girl I think that you will be ok anytime you can just rest and put your feet up

Unless you were doing drugs, smoking, drinking, or on strong medication, you didn’t do anything wrong.
Go see an OBGYN

2 rainbow babies almost 3. 3 Miscarriages

I almost lost my son 3X. Stay off your feet don’t try to do to much. Summer time lay on a chaise lounge outside. Very relaxing. Don’t try to work a job it cause stress to your body. Eat healthy, lots of liquids. He was a miracle cause I was never able to get pregnant again. Hope everything will be perfect for you this time.

I had six misscariges before i had my first child. I was so sad every time. I was convinced i would never have a child. I had test after test done. Found out my body just attacks the placenta. I have been blest with three children. I am currently pregnant with my fourth. I have had a total of 10 misscariges.

My obgyn gives me a hormone pill i take during my first trimester to better the chances of not miscarrying

See a doctor/midwife to ask about taking oral progesterone first 13 weeks, by then placenta is able to make a sufficient amount. Get tested for MTHFR genetic mutation/ make sure to take prenatal that has methylated folate - no folic acid (synthetic form that body can’t use properly if you have this genetic mutation about 70% of population has it). Meditation and epsom salt baths for stress reduction. Prayers for you Mama :heart::heart:

I know how you feel but try not to stress bed rest lots of water and pray baby god bless :hugs::kissing_heart:

I had 3 miscarriages and my rainbow baby is now 4 months old. When you see your OB let her know you’ve had miscarriages before you she will either send you to a HR (high risk) Dr. or she will see you every two weeks instead of once a month. That’s how my OB did me.

I had 4 and now i have 2 baby boys. I have no idea ehat advice to give u.

I’ve had 5 miscarriages, then 3 healthy boys, another miscarriage last year and 28 weeks with my last baby. Be sure your OB checks your thyroid levels in your bloodwork. I have never been diagnosed with it until this pregnancy and my current OB says it’s a big cause of miscarriage, yet most OB don’t even test for it.

Before my last baby i had 4 miscarriages-26 weeks, 12 weeks, 8 weeks, and 17 weeks

Low progesterone can be a cause as well as some blood disorders causing your blood to be too thick. Sorry, I can’t remember the name of that disorder.

I had 3 miscarriages only to find out I was type 2 diabetic and my doctor never caught it. Once i got my sugars under control getting pregnant was a breeze. I’ve had two healthy babies since the miscarriages. Don’t give up hope and don’t stress yourself out worrying.
