Christmas ideas for a 2 year old?

With christmas coming up i need ideas for a two year old. She has many many toys so im looking for more learning activities/games, her daycare isn’t known for teaching kids to be ready for kindergarten so i’d like to try and do it myself!

Books, simples puzzles, playdough, dressups, blocks, dolls, tea party, magnetiles.

A swing, slide, balance bike, music for dancing, sandpit- all build muscles and vestibular system needed for wiring the brain and core body strength needed at school.
Play is the work of the child and where they build problem solving skills, and social, emotional and cognitive development

Letters and numbers for the refrigerator or magnetic board to help her practice. Books, and read to her a lot. Libraries have great programs for kids. As long as she has 2-3 boxes to open, she’ll be happy—and enjoy the boxes, ribbon and wrapping as much as the contents. My son was delighted with his very own can of olives one year.

Give coupons to redeem for “adventures.” Go scavenger hunting for items in nature: squirrel, mushroom, smooth rock, some type of leaf/leaves (flat, patterned, green, prickly, red, brown, yellow) berries, bugs, pinecone, flower—whatever you can find near your home. Time with family is the best present of all.

Look into Linda’s Lab stuff—she’s a young girl who creates STEM-related content and products for kids. https://www.lindaslab.org/ .

Look into local, regional and national museum programs in person and online for young children.

Ask her to help you at the grocery store: find the oranges, how much do the bananas cost, weigh produce, learn the differences between fruits and vegetables. Look for letters on canned and boxed goods. What shapes are different items in your grocery cart? Why do we bring our own bags?

At two, don’t overwhelm her with gifts, especially if friends or family will provide more.

Participate in stream cleanups, ask the lifeguards at the pool to tell you about testing the water and what to look for. Fund a person or place with a telescope to look at planets or stars. Put up a map of the U.S. and the world and point out names and places where you know people. Get kid-sized gardening tools and plant and care for plants in a yard or pot. You can grow basil fairly easily and use the leaves in cooking. She can put leaves on top of pizza, in salads, or make bruschetta with you.

Sensory toys and a trip somewhere she can enjoy! Take many pictures!
