Depo shot side effects?

I am 6 weeks pp and I got the depo shot for the first time ever just to last until my husband gets a visectomy so they said it will last three months, I’ve never been on it but it’s been three days and I’m dizzy and have headaches how long do these side effects last? I don’t plan on getting another dose in three months but am I gonna feel like this for three months?

I hate the Depo shot with a burning passion. I felt ill all the time. Constant headaches, moody… ugh. I’d rather get shot in the foot than be on Depo again.

I have never had an issue with the depo shot, not even headaches

I was on depo for 6 years and never had those symptoms but also I have PCOS so honestly I think I feel better on hormones than when my non functioning body is left to its own devices :woman_facepalming:t3:

When I got my first depo shot I got massive migraines and felt like I was pregnant (I had all the symptoms - peeing lots, bloated a bit, boobs hurt, dizzy etc) it went away after a few weeks. Maybe didn’t even take that long I can’t remember when exactly it stopped

I had a migraine for 3 months straight with mine.

I had no reaction at all with mine and got pregnant with no problem once I quit using it. Everybody is different. If you are reacting, it’s good that you aren’t planning on getting it again

Never had issues with depo

My body is sensitive to everything and I had no issues. My sister said the first shot was the worst amd after that the first few days before she got her new shot and the first few days of a new shot were like actual period symptoms but a little worse. Pay attention to your body. If you feel like your health is effected, don’t get it again. It can be nasty. Not everyone’s body can handle it. But the first shot is usually the worst. Second one might suck. Just listen to your body.

I got it once and never again. I felt faint all the time. And bled for 3 months straight

I have never had a depo shot, but I know several people that got pregnant anyway. My daughter (she’s adopted) was a depo baby. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all kinds of happy the depo shot failed. I got a wonderful child out of it, and the birth mother and all of her family is now my family. For us it worked out
BUT…
You may want to use condoms too just to be sure you don’t end up with a depo baby. I hope you feel better soon.

Maybe look up ‘side effects’ for the Depo shot on Google? Never heard of it but I am older.
