DId anyone else not like the smell of meat while pregnant?

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I’m 35 and 11 weeks pregnant with my 3rd baby. I absolutely cannot stand the smell of meat cooking and have a hard time eating it. I never experienced this with my other two pregnancies and need to know if it will get better. Any advice is appreciated.

Yes. Raw meat smelled disgusting, but I could eat beef as long as I didn’t cook it. Any pork made me vomit instantly, my son is 3 and I still don’t eat pork.:sweat_smile:

It’s called food aversions

Me!!! We had a roast in the crock pot … The smell was horrible. I actually took it out of the kitchen and plugged it in our in the garage so at least the rest of the family could eat. :joy::joy::joy:

I couldn’t stand the smell of meat when pregnant with my first child 24 years ago I’ve been vegetarian ever since

Any raw meat made me about get sick while I was pregnant both times, luckily that went away once I had my kids!

Totally normal!!
Make sure you’re getting protein from other food sources like peanut butter, veggies etc. I think chicken and pork upset my stomach the most so my husband would pick up beef jerky, still meat but doesn’t seem to bother me as much

I sure did. And ukw sucked? I worked at a deli at that time

Raw meat cooked Meat and coffee. Working at a fast food restaurant when I had to make and smell all of those smells all the time SUCKED :persevere:

:raising_hand_woman: I could not stand the smell of any kind of raw meat cooking. I had to have my husband cook everything before I got home so I didn’t smell it. Bacon and burger were the worse.

All cooking meat smelled so bad to me that I’d vomit.:nauseated_face::nauseated_face:

Tbh me wanting meat was why I was pretty sure I was gonna test positive when we found out about this baby. I’m 37 weeks. Before I got pregnant I was actually a vegetarian transitioning to veganism…

When I was pregnant with my daughter, I couldn’t eat anything except soup and crackers my first trimester. My second and third trimester I was able to eat burgers, chicken, and pork chops. But, steak was a no go. Now, I still can’t eat steak. I am pregnant with my second child and I’m able to eat more this time then last time.

Me! Pork was my kryptonite with my 3rd. It never improved while I was pregnant, but returned to normal afterward.

I couldn’t stand the smell of bacon cooking when I was pregnant with my son. It lasted the entire pregnancy.

I hated the smell of red meat/wet dog food  to the point where my partner had to feed the dog outside and I had to sit in a different room with a scented candle lit while he cooked any red meat

But I loved the smell or BBQ chicken and any chicken flavoured cat food :flushed::woozy_face: - no I didn’t eat said cat food but it legit smelled like chicken noodle soup

Yup. I was completely vegetarian for my first pregnancy.

Yep. It’s been like this thru most of my pregnancies for me. I just can’t do most meats. I can eat fish usually but not always. I just try to make sure I’m getting plenty of protein and fats from other sources still. It unfortunately didn’t stop for me, but that doesn’t mean it won’t get better for you. Food aversions can change throughout pregnancy, but sometimes they don’t. I drink whey protein shakes, high protein ensures and try to eat lots of nuts and peanut butter and fish whenever my body will let me. So far we haven’t had any issues from my meat aversions.

My 2nd pregnancy I didn’t eat any meat. It grossed me out so much

why are you asking people you don’t know ask your doctor

I couldn’t stand the smell, taste or texture of chicken (except chicken strips) when I was pregnant. My son is now 2.5 & I still struggle with it.

My first and third pregnancy I didn’t want to smell, touch or eat any meat the whole time!! Just make sure you’re getting protein from a different source.

I had an aversion to meat when pregnant with my 2nd!

Ground beef made me so nauseous :nauseated_face:
