Did you use your changing table?

Opinions on getting/using a changing table in nursery? Some say they use it all the time, some say it was a waste of money because they didn’t ever use it. Thanks in Advance!

I use mine all day every day. I have one on both floors of my house. And my baby is 14 months

We loved having that area for diapers, wipes and creams. Even if we rarely used it.

Waste of money I think. Majority of the time when their tiny and sleeping in your room, you wont be walking into another room at night to change them. And if we are in the living room, he gets changed on the couch or chair.

I used ours a lot with both kids.

We used a short Ikea dresser with a changing pad on top. Way more practical.

I didn’t think I’d need a changing table, but I use mine for every diaper change! It’s so convenient for us. I put mine in the middle of my house so it’s easily accessible no matter where my baby is.

I love having one, I use it all the time. It’s great for storage too.

I had one i used it once or twice. Waste of money in my opinion.

waste of money. I changed my first on it ONE time. that was it. didn’t put the second one on it at all.

I use mine all the time. It’s on top of the dresser.

I used my son’s all the time until he got to long for it… when my husband’s daughter came down with our 1st granddaughter when she was a baby his daughter used it as well…

We use a changing pad on top of a dresser. When he was little that’s where I always changed him. He’s 9 months now and I change a lot of his diapers in the living room but I always go back to the changing pad for poops

I used it all the time, especially in the middle of the night changes

Never used mine… was mainly used for throwing clothes on. (STORAGE)

For me, I never got one to begin with because I thought it’d be a waste if money and space. But when I was given one, and used it, let me tell ya, it’s a back saver

You will definitely use it, especially if you have a c section

I used mine until he got too heavy for it. I got it for free though so even if I didn’t use it it wouldn’t have been a waste of money lol

I use my change table when my two little ones have had a bath or when I am getting them ready to go out

I used the dresser and got the mat for it worked great and now it’s just a dresser

I use mine everyday still and my son is 7 months! We had it in our living room with clothes, diapers, wipes, and receiving blankets in it.

I use mine all the time!!

I would say just buy the pad and put on top of dresser

Mine is on top a dresser and I use it for every diaper change. He’s still in our room, so I put it on this level (his nursery is upstairs) and we can move it to the basement on the weekends. We have the diapers, wipes, basically everything we need in it, so it’s perfect.

Can count on two hands the number of times we used it. They sound nice and make your nursery look “complete” but I found it to be more of a pain and eyesore. When my daughter was super tiny she was constantly on me and I never walked her all the way to her room just to change her nearly every hour, I changed her on the couch or my bed. As she got older it became even more of a chore because she was rolling around so we just decided to get rid of it :woman_shrugging:t3:

I wanted one since i had a csection. Its painful leaning just a little to change diaper.

Why have a changing area when everywhere you go is a changing area!! I’ve changed my kids in the middle of a Doctors office in my lap!

I asked for one but never recieved it. Honestly now after 2 months I don’t see the benefit. My son prefers being changed on something that’s already warm anyway. And it’s nicer at night when all I have to do is change him on the bed while he grabs my toes and plays with them.

Never once used it with the first one. It just became a junk space. Got rid of it and never looked back once. Not even when I had three in diapers. But, I’ve known people who couldn’t have lived without one so…

I used mine a lot
Just get a couple different covers if you’re having a boy

1st child always used it. Could live without it. I have and still have a problem changing a poopy disper on my bed. 2nd child used it until about 6 months then used our bed then the guest bed which is in their room. But saying that we had moved three times in 5 months so my changing table was in storage for 5 months. I would say get the changing table that’s a dresser just in case u don’t use it at least it’s still a dresser.

Totally worth it. I love mine

I never used in their room but this time we put in the living room since we have a 2 story house when we are downstairs we use it.

Got a mattress some where to use…works well in changing diapers

We have one that is also a dresser, and I used it A LOT with both kids (even still now). I feel like it makes things a bit easier because everything you could need is right there in the organizer we have (diapers, wipes, cream, lotion, hair brush, etc). But if you have a 2 story home, I could see how it could be a hassle to go to the changing table everytime, so it just depends on your situation.
Edit: Also so much easier for cleanups, if there’s a blow out and it gets on the changing pad, you just take it off to wash it versus trying to clean up the floor, couch, or whatever you’re changing them on instead.

Cheaper to get a pack n play with the attachment. We only used ours for the first few weeks

Never got one but never felt like I was missing out on not having one either.

I don’t use it anymore. I used it all the time the first 9 months but after then I don’t really care much

We just bought a dresser which is quite useful and bought a changing pad to put on top. Use it all the time.

I kept it in my room. Used it a lot.

Bought one and never used it! It now stores toys and blankets.

I use mine daily, but I just put a changing pad on a dresser with a gripper pad underneath. My kids are 2.5 and 1.5, plus adding another in May. It will be well used!!

We got a dresser and velcroed a changing pad on top. And we still use the dresser now.

Never used mine. Changing pad is needed instead and can be used everywhere.

We have 2 one upstairs in our room and one down stairs in the play room

I used mine a lot! I don’t change her on it often now but it’s great for storage. That’s the only reason I haven’t parted with mine yet lol

Serious :joy::joy: we use our 1 for storage bahahah Ranui you as well too ae :joy::joy::joy::joy:

We have a change pad on top of the dresser. My son is almost 2 and still use it constantly. Don’t know what I would do without it honestly :woman_shrugging:t3: he knows to stay still when on the change pad, you try to change him elsewhere it’s a different story lol

I never got one for any of my kids.

I used the one that came with my playpen, but only until I needed to use the full depth

It all depends on the person

you should use a changing area for your baby. use one location keep it clean for your baby’s safty and yours.
A clean baby is a healthy baby.

Didnt use. Change um where they lay

I wish I had one. I have one connected to my crib but it’s small and not as easy

My daughter has one for her 1 month old, she uses it to change him, to dress him after his bath, to change his clothes. She loves it. We even put a mobile on it & the baby is just now starting to notice it
Its helpful. All diapers, meds, bath supplies are all right there, its really a God-send at our house.

I got one for free. Haven’t used it yet, but its in the nursery and my son is only a couple weeks old so he’s still in the pack n play in my room

Not worth it to me .I change baby wherever :woman_shrugging:t3:

I have a changing table in my daughters nursery and use it to this day. I have they playpen that had a removable bassinet and separate changing area and I still use changing area on that too. My daughter is almost 2 now

I use mine to this day and my sons 16 months.

Never use mine, waste of money! I change my son on my bed also, lot more space, comfortable for them. I dont think I’ve honestly used it once. Its holding junk

Put a changing table cushion on top of the dresser. I only used it for the first few months with both my kids. So I had it while I needed it, but didn’t spend so much money on it that it was annoying to be done with it quickly.

I have one in my daughters room that I use daily and if I’m downstairs I use the changing table that’s on my pack n play

My changing table is in my living room and I use it all day long just not at night.

Used one for all 3 of mine quite a lot

Never used mine :woman_shrugging:t3: it took up space

I use mine constantly! It seems to be a preference thing!

I used mine my baby girl 9 months

Honestly, I love mine. It stores all of his diapers, wipes, spit up towels ect. Plus he now likes to play the roll while my butt is still covered in poo game. It makes it so that I have a designated, easy to clean area when I just don’t quite catch him in time. :joy:

I use mine all the time babe is 16mo and I’m just thinking of getting rid of it.

More a waste of money. The only one of 3 that really got use out of changing table was youngest (of 3) and that was only usually before or after sleep times when we were already in room. Normally I just changed where I was. Couch or my bed.

I’ve used mine everyday from the time my first baby was born until she was potty trained at 2 1/2. Doing the same with #2. Mine is attached to her crib in her room.

Depends where you put it too you don’t necessarily have to put it in the nursery unless you don’t mind taking baby there for every diaper change/ clothes change. I had one in my daughters room but changed her wherever was most convenient in my home haha

Mine has always been in babes room and I’ve used it for both of my girls. Any of my friends that bring kids over, use it too.

We got one of those cribs with the changing table attached. Two years later we still use it all the time :+1:t2:

Mines in the bed room… we only go in the bed room to sleep… so it’s not used at all.

Never liked them. Thought they were too skinny.

We use ours all the time

Waste of money…becomes a junk collector lol cuz honestly you aren’t going to go to it for every diaper change…and I’m 5’8” and it was just awkward and uncomfortable to change them on a changing table. Standing next to the bed or sitting on the floor or couch I thought was easier :woman_shrugging:t3:

Didn’t use one for my older 3, but my 1 & 2 year old I used it a lot

Just a waste of money :slightly_smiling_face:

We have two, one in the nursery and one down stairs in the kitchen. I have extra shelves next to them so everything is at the same height and with in easy reach. Extra supplies and clothes are stored in the draws below. It keeps things all together and at a good height for my back! I wouldn’t be without one.

I didn’t use ours until about 2 months then i loved it! It doesn’t hurt my back to bend over like changing her on the couch or a bed

We use ours all the time. Our youngest is 18 months and we use it daily.

Used mine maybe twice . Changed my daughter on the bed .

I used my bed mostly. We didn’t even buy one.

We used ours all the time!

My child’s crib has a build in changing table at the end. It wasn’t even that pricey. And the crib can transform into a toddler bed and a toddler couch

It’s really about preference. With my first I didn’t have one and was fine without it. I just changed him on my bed or couch or whatever. For my second we got one and I used it only for night changes as it was in his room but that was it with my 3rd we still have the one from my second and never even used it for him. I’m currently pregnant with my 4th and I have no plans of using it as I change the kids wherever, bed, couch, whatever.

One of the dresser type ones is nice. They hold clothes and other useful baby things, if it ends up not being used too much at least it’s still somewhat functional. I had a dresser, which I modified and laid a changing mattress on and kept the diaper stuff up there. Well, I used it at first. After a couple weeks I would just bring the pad to the bed where I was previously in hanging out with baby and change him there. Or I was on the go, used a diaper bag. Always needed more storage space though.

I uaed one the first 6 months, but then it turned into a bookshelf/toy station. Lol. If you can’t afford one, put a mat on the dresser or something. If you can, make sure you can turn it into something to use later.

I had one and never really used it because I just changed her where ever
