Do any of you meal prep for your kids school lunches? What do you put in them?
I do. My son is 7. He loves strawberries, grapes and seedless cucumbers in his lunch. I was and prep them ahead of time and separate them into containers in the fridge so I can just grab a handful or two of each and fill his divided containers for lunch. Same if he’s taking left over chicken or steak in his lunch that week, I precut it so I don’t have to do it in the morning.
Absolutely. I cut all veggies & fruit for the weeks. Any meats/cheeses that are needed. I bake all our “snacks” cupcakes, cookies, muffins, energy balls etc
Mine are grown however I’ve been part of the public school system as a nurse and refuse to eat most of the garbage served in public schools. I used to bring aldi frozen sushi and let it thaw in my lunch bag til noon, and other kids did this too. Anything grandma made, like scalloped potatoes with ham in a hot thermos, still felt grandma love, some would bring leftover spaghetti and meatballs in the hot thermos too, even soup in the thermos with toppings (croutons, bacon, cheese) in a baggie packed separate. Some kids just brought a bag of takis for lunch, sad I know. Some brought a ham sandwich, and that’s fine. PBJ is a thing of the past kids, nobody brings that anymore. Other thoughts are a lunch box with an ice pack with chicken salad or tuna salad in it, with the bread packed separate, so they can put it together at the lunch table. Either way, they’d be done with theirs before the lunch line kids get out of the lunch line. The brown bag lunch box kids are now the ones that get all the love, and the poor things standing in the lunch line have to settle for whatever crap is doled out…. kinda like jail
