Does donating plasma hurt? I’m only 120lbs and have never donated anything before. I have 2 kids so have gotten used to blood draws and injections. I’ve also had an iron infusion for 4 weeks. I’m so scared lol
It’s no different then getting blood drawn or having an I.V. for any other reason. It takes awhile and you get really cold. So bring a jacket or blanket with you. Needle goes in arm and you wait while it separates out the plasma.
If you’re scared don’t do it
I’ve been told that you will feel like your going to pass out bc they are literally taking alot of blood. But they do put it back so the feeling goes away. I’ve never had it done, but my friend use to go once a month
Doesn’t hurt any worse than an iron infusion or a blood transfusion. I have given plasma in the past and get iron infusions regularly and blood transfusions so far at least once a year. But you need to talk to your physician to see if it is even healthy for you to donate plasma. Because you are low on iron
If you have low iron you probably can not donate. I did for about a year, but I could only use 1 arm as the other did not have good vein… so build up of scare tissue. They check your iron when you go if it is to low you can not donate.
I did find it relaxing. Took a book and read.
You will have a check up before you start donating. I’m pretty sure your iron deficiency is going to disqualify you.
