Does relationship/pre-martial counseling work?I’m in the middle of a separation, but we’ve been together 6 years. Have 2 kids together (1 bio his. The other is mine from a prior relationship but he’s helped raise her for 5 years). He is my best friend. He’s just done some things that’s made me lose trust for him over and over and over again. Idk if I can get that back.

Counseling only works if both parties want it to and actively put in the effort to make it work. You absolutely can rebuild trust and the relationship if (and only if) both of you are honest with each other and seek the help to rebuild. This includes (but not limited to) counseling, dating each other and showing each other the love and respect you did at the beginning.
Pre marital is literally what you do before marriage. Usually with a pastor/priest/rabbi etc. Sounds like you just need couples counseling.
