Does pumping jump start labor?

I’m being induced on Monday and my doctor recommended pumping every day until then to try and get things going naturally. Any success stories with pumping to get labor started?

I have heard this can induce labor

Stimulating the nipples release oxytocin which is the hormone released during labor. So in short, yes.

It did for me! My labor stopped while I was in the hospital and I refused pitocin so the doc suggested that I pump for about 20 mins. After that, labor started progressing fast!

It didn’t work for me but it’s supposed to lol

Yes. Oxytocin is a primary hormone trigger for labor and nipple stimulation produces oxytocin.

Yes, sometimes. It depends on your body. It won’t hurt to try.

It didn’t work for me so I had to be induced but everyone is different. Best of luck

I’ve been pumping 2 weeks as my hospital doesn’t do formula unless absolutely medically necessary so I already have stored milk and I’ve not been in labor

If your body is ready to go into labor then nipple stimulation can help yes. Doesn’t have to be pumping even.

It can. Pumping causes the body to release oxytocin which is what stimulates natural uterine contractions and can cause labor to naturally occur. Pitocin is synthetic oxytocin …

in Last month i have received $ 13509 doing work on my mobile. I never thought I’d be able to do it but my buddy makes over $ 19638 a month doing this and she convinced me to try. The possibllity with this ls endless.

Yes, pump for longer periods of time… normally you’d start pumping short 20 mins a day for 4 weeks before your due date to Amp up supply, but if you do 30+ mins a few times a day you will induce labor idealy

It can BUT nothing will start labour unless baby is ready. Its the baby that releases hormones which then tells the body to start the process.

It can help labor however it won’t unless your body/baby is ready

It helped me. I was supposed to have a scheduled C-section on Dec 31 and around the 27th my ob said I could start pumping because my milk came in at 6 months along. And I started pumping the 27th, went into labor the 28th, baby the 29th

Check out stretches on an exercise ball to help baby get into position, pressure points to push, do what helps get the oxytocin moving (being intimate or petting your dog etc) to relax, eat pineapple, eggplant parm, talk to baby and encourage them its safe and time to come out…

I never got to try, but yes. Ifbyou got the go ahead I would.

I breastfed throughout my 2nd pregnancy. Was never told by my doctor it was dangerous.

Being induced was the worst ever… I’d do anything to help start lol

Potentially. But there’s only one scientifically proven way to jump start labor.

I’m confused by this. I was told by lactation coach to pump to bring up my supply 4 to 5 weeks before my due date. I don’t want my little guy here early and want him to “cook” in there as long as possible due to him having some health problems.

It doesn’t jumpstart labour it helps bring your milk in faster

Never tried that but squats helped me a lot!
