Ik some easy dinner like sloppy Joe chil nuggets spaghetti but I need some more idea I broke my wrist last night
Make a pot of soup or stew, crockpot Mac and cheese, crispy chicken strips, sheet pan suppers, crockpot meals and desserts.
Beefy Mac , blt , chili Ramen , tuna sandwich and chips
Can of Goya black bean soup (my family didn’t like any other brand) + 90-second rice in a bag—we prefer brown basmati. Heat and pour soup over rice. If you have the energy, squeeze some lime juice on top and add some grated, chopped or dried minced onion (in the spice aisle) on top.
Prepared pie shell + undiluted can of cream of chicken, mushroom or celery soup + small bag frozen mixed vegetables (throw in any leftovers you have in the fridge) + chopped or shredded chicken (great for leftovers). It’s better with onions, but OK without. Top with instant mashed potatoes & and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or so. Usually I have enough filling for 2 pie shells. Add any spices you like: parsley, poultry seasoning, sage, onion or garlic powder, etc.
Alternatively use condensed tomato soup and hamburger. Spices can include paprika, chili powder, etc.
Add heat via cayenne or hot sauce if you want.
My daughter taught me this:
Hamburger meat, Mac n chz and taco seasoning. It’s simple and so good.
You can find chopped or shredded vegetables in the fresh produce or frozen foods section. Shredded pork & chicken in the meat section.
Put shredded meat in a pan with a bag of frozen Asian vegetables. Separately mix 1 TBSP cornstarch in 1/4 cup of cold water. Add 1/4 cup soy or ponzu sauce, 1/2 cup chicken broth or orange juice, ginger, garlic and add to pan. Heat and stir until sauce thickens & meat & vegetables are heated through. Serve over 90-second brown rice. Garnish with fried onions or fried Chinese noodles from a can, or peanuts or cashews if you want.
Packet of country gravy mix, shredded chicken,
chopped onions & celery from fresh produce or salad bar,
frozen peas if you like,
Salt, pepper, garlic powder and lots of tarragon.
Cook onions & celery in butter or cheap olive oil. Follow directions on country gravy mix. Add all ingredients together and fill flour tortillas or crepes if you can find them.
IKEA sells Swedish pancakes or you can have someone make thin pancakes by doubling the liquid in Bisquick pancakes.
Roll the filling in the tortillas/crepes and line in a greased or parchmented pan in the oven/toaster oven until heated and a bit crispy. Serve with fruit and French bread, fruit & fancy French cheese. Good dish to impress company too.
Frozen dinners—Stouffer’s regular or veggie lasagna are many people’s go-tos—& takeout or fast food on nights when you’re tired. All my recipes are stuff my kids would eat. Chili & grocery store bakery cornbread or corned beef hash in a can are easy choices too. Prepared salads from the grocery store or deli counter. Chunky soup + good bread + whole fruit or applesauce.
Broken wrist is especially nasty. Hope you heal relatively quickly and are back to two hands in a short time.
Call in your reinforcements and ask them if they’d be willing to help you cook, chop, or otherwise use a knife, opening cans, jars, etc. If you’re lucky they’ll offer to make & bring dinner.
